have some questions to the "liberal Republicans" and Libertarians who claim we cannot legislate morality. Do they support laws banning the torture of animals? That's enforcing morality on people who think they have the right to kick their dog. What about private property rights? That's enforcing morality on those who believe in communitarian property. How about gun rights? Again, enforcing your morality on the gun banners. Laws are the rules a society chooses to live by and will always reflect that society's morals.

What liberals, Democrats and Republicans, and Libertarians oppose is not morality in the law. What they oppose is the traditional morality held by the majority of the people and reflected in our democratically enacted laws. That's why they - the Libertarian Cato Institute was quoted twice in Lawrence v Texas - turn to the courts to impose their hedonism on society.

I still can't believe it! The majority of Americans oppose gay marriages and to have our elected officers stab us in the back is UNREAL! Very disappointing!

Every law has a moral component. The "can't legislate morality" gang is operating with wet powder.

"Is this dead in the water? Will it be back? When will it be back for a vote?"

It will be back until it passes. As to when, that depends on many things.

So I guess Sununu is a RINO... thank Team Bush for getting rid of Bob Smith (an incumbent conservative)... of course, we know that sitting Presidents never back primary challengers against incumbents, just ask Toomey. This administration has become the RINO Protection Agency.

Campbell's planning on retiring and not running for the next term, as far as I know. That's why he voted the anal elite vote.

But if we keep neglecting the polls every time the opposition sets us back, the opposition will continue to win by their msot favored tactics of gradualism (incrementalism), infiltration (as they do on this board) and disruption (saying that voting Republican is no use).

And most of the political power (as homosexuals themselves don't have the numbers) against the Marriage Amendment is from feminist organizations--both Republican and Democrat feminist organizations. They have huge federal funding through many congressional votes and many offices (VAWA, Child Support Act, arts and Women's Studies programs in universities, various social services agencies, etc.) to be paid for their time working against families.

See one example at the site of their umbrella organization.
