I suppose Ashcroft would rather waste prosecutors' time on adult porn while letting kiddie pornographers go unpunished. All you have to do is vote that bigot out of job then.

We do not know how much more it would have dropped had porn not increased. "We do not know how much more our students' test scores would increase, if only we would spend more money on public education."
See any similarity in the statements?

"Do you believe that porn causes rape?"I've never understood how pornography (sexual stimulation) can be related to rape which we're told is not a sexual crime but a crime of violence (subjugation). I guess if the porn is nothing but violent S&M, simulated rape stuff.
Causes? No. Given the above, there may be some connection if the type of porn focuses on it. My guess would be that the person is predisposed, rather than being "converted" by the porn to a rapist.
I used rape as an example because the author made the connection. I'm not hung up on it. Any negative criminal behavior associated with porn will do to make my point.
And that was, in my opinion, I'd rather arrest the pornographer than the criminal who comes about because porn is legalized..

Unlike you, I practice self-restraint instead of demanding the nanny state practice it for me. Amen, brother!

I understand that the age for starring in porn is 18. My question still stands....what makes you think this is not going to change. Many of the restrictions have been liberalized and continue to be. Give 'em an inch and they take a yard. What was "X" rated when I was a teenager is now R rated. That will soon be PG13. lol...actually a sad state of affairs.

as opposed to needing to be forced to do so at gunpoint? Petty tyrants like the idea of being able to force their will and beliefs.

My question still stands....what makes you think this is not going to change I see no reason why it would change unless the legal age to engage in contractual relationships change. Even in regular hollywood movies, if an actress is under 18 and the movie calls for a nude scene or a breast shot the parents of the actress must provide consent.

Methinks you're off your meds. No one said any such thing, but you extremist outbursts and your desire to see the government regulate life indicate you're a liberal troll.

The President and his Christian Taliban want to rewrite bigotry into the Constitution!Actually, they don't. They have more important things on their mind, like keeping whack-job religious nuts from detonating a nuclear bomb on American soil.

Porn is obscene and therefore has no "aesthetic" value. Making, distributing and possessing it is not a right. Well, get yourself elected as a DA and file some charges. You'll quickly find your conviction rate is going to be very low.
In any event, the best you could do is get porn banned in a few places. There are plenty of states in this country where you could never get a conviction based on regular adult porn.

I will exercise my firing skills on anyone that comes to my door to find out what I have in my DVD collection or on my bookshelf. Oh, I have made note of it. You are the very quintessence of a "porno-patriot."
Good luck with your anarchist revolution.

It happens all over the world. The Internet is not one place, this country is powerless to stop these images from being viewed.
Does this mean that we can blame Al Gore, or is it (as always) President Bush's fault?
Given that it is an international issue, what we really need are some U.N. Resolutions, perhaps an international law or two.

All you have to do is vote that bigot out of job then Nah, I know it's all politics. He's trying to make fundies like you happy. However, the DOJ lawyers who actually have to file these charges are going to do as little as possible and focus on the real crimes out there.

Petty tyrants like the idea of being able to force their will and beliefs. Which is probably why so many of them go to work for the IRS.

The President want to codify Family Values into the Constitution with a Defense of Marriage amendment. If he really did, he would've executed the effort a little more competently. That thing crashed and burned on the cloture vote.
