It wasn't overheard. Leahy sent one of his toadies scurrying to the media to report it.
I didn't know that. I guess I got the Democrat media spin version. Thanks for clearing that up.

I don't get it .. the dems FORBID the media from recording their event .. and the media just stands there and takes it.
How long do you think it would take for the media to be all over the airwaves condemning the REPUBS for NOT ALLOWING THEM TO RECORD a repub event.
The media really is a bunch of groveling scum.

The age of the two little ones make it evident that they took a risk of Down's Syndrome by having babies when she was in her late 40s and early 50s. It could be that the little ones are adopted. But, you gotta admit; the two little ones are cuties.
People like the Edwards do not RISK Downs Syndrome. They test, abort and try again. Or they do it in dishes and test em before implantation.

It's not an issue for me; my parents were 42 and 40 when I came along. Just curious about when / how long they've been married, is all.

I was wondering how a woman of such advanced child bearing age could do it. I am confident that it involved medical intervention. Such things are not uncommon these days. I have a hard time seeing how they are bad things. One possible ethical difficulty might be the process of culling excess twins, as sometimes happens with fertility drugs. But there is no reason to think that happened in this case.
These are beautiful children who appear to have loving and supportive parents. They are certainly well cared-for. They are one reason to like John Edwards. Not enough, in my case, to get me to consider voting for him, however.

"The hypocrisy of them making a call like that is almost unimaginable," said Devine, adding that Bush and Cheney restrict access to their own campaign events. (In fact, the administration's practice is to let reporters into all fund-raisers except those in private residences. While reporters were invited to the Kerry concert, they were forbidden from recording.) I'm surprised that tbe Boston Globe even called the Kerry campaign on their lie. Good for them.

I'm sure the John/John campaign could get waivers from the 'stars" who performed. After all, they should be proud of their work on behalf of their candidate. I'll bet they already have. If this event had been a success, you know they'd be showing the footage.

Who would have thought Dave Matthews, John Mellonball, even Meryl Streep were all air heads? Melloncamp is used to doing concert fundraisers such as "Farm Aid".
Maybe they called this concert fundraiser for the Johnson brothers "Kool Aid".
