Here is what really gripes me...:
The intel reports concluded Iraq was "trying to buy urainium".
Wilson's report stated he'd "found no evidence Iraq had bought urainium".
Anybody see a difference here??????
Was Iraq TRYING????
Wilson's report is a lie!

It looks very much like the actual slogan should not be "Bush Lied", but "Wilson Lied!" and the entire scam was a setup to fuel the anti-war effort and discredit President Bush. This isn't a smoking gun, it is the entire cannon!
I recommend everybody go over and read the article about and reflect on the perfidy which occurred here. Somebody needs to go to jail, and it's not Cheney!

This story in today's Washington Post seems to indicate that Joe Wilson is a monumental liar, publicity hound and partisan hack. Truly a must-read. Spread the word.

What I don't understand is why the Lefties have to lie all the time. There are perfectly valid questions about the war in Iraq and its aftermath. Why not make them an issue? Why all the lies?

Joe Wilson even lied to the Wash Post:
"The report also said Wilson provided misleading information to The Washington Post last June."

if anyone has the full article and would care to send it to me via freepmail, i'd be much obliged; i'm not registered with the compost.
i already monitor leftist rags around here in NYC - in keeping with Sun Tzu's dictum about knowing thine enemy - and my subsequent use of seasick pills to offset the nausea is bordering on toxic poisoning.

Well, not really.
After he was fired (by the voters) from the Clinton administration, Wilson just manipulated the Washington insider-trading system to steal some more taxpayer money through HIS WIFE'S POSITION at the CIA (contrary to his claims of innocence and "hiding" her influence!), then used THAT TRIP to produce a corrupt, false, but highly influential report condemning Bush.
All very Innocent and above board, ya know.

Saturday Edition, page A09. I wonder if the original "story" was on A09, I suspect it had a more prominent place.

I am not at all surprised by this news, just by where it's appearing. Here is the thing, if you go back and read Wilson's comments from the beginning he seemed (at one point) content to learn that the Bush administration had another source for their claim. THEN, someone got a hold of him, I suspect promised him dollars and fame. That Joe Wilson is a liar who couldn't resist the spotlight isn't all of the news, I want to know who Wilson's "handlers" are.

Wilson stood by his assertion in an interview yesterday, saying Plame was not the person who made the decision to send him. Of her memo, he said: "I don't see it as a recommendation to send me." Pretty glib for someone with their pants on fire.

The committee found Wilson had made an earlier trip to Niger in 1999 for the CIA, also at his wife's suggestion.

How will this impact the grand jury investigation? Will this vindicate those who may have given Novak Plame's name, or does it matter?

In other words, this whole Joe Wilson thing was completely manufactured by Democrat-affiliated political hacks for purely partisan purposes.Something which has been obvious since day one. That and the media's willingness (in this and other stories) to purvey partisan lies in an effort to bring down President Bush or anyone in this administration (see Chris Matthews spitting out "Scooter Libby" like a turret's syndrome victim), and shun the facts on the record.
The only bright light is that eventually the media types are forced by sheer force of data and documentation to acknowledge and concede certain facts--well after they've lent credence and authority to liars and pond scum like Joe Wilson.
Ah, Fox news just promoted what stories will be covered this hour and this will be discussed shortly. Good.
