It's a terrible shame that John Edwards lost his son, but it seems opportunistic to say that he's running for his deceased child.

I noticed Edwards didn't sue himself for being negligent and enabling the crash. That's, because Mr Edwards is a leach and parasites can't feed very well off themselves.

All of it ended in April 1996. Wade and a friend were driving to the family's beach house near Wilmington, N.C., when their Jeep veered and rolled over, apparently shoved by a gust of wind for which Wade overcorrected.

Normally, I don't comment on situations where people lose their young children...but since Edwards has decided to wear his son's death on his sleeve, he's fair game.

First, I've driven many a jeep. Claiming that a gust of wind was to blame for their son's accident is total bullsh!t.

If Wade wasn't experienced enough to handle his jeep when a hard gust of wind hit it, his parents shouldn't have allowed him to drive it.

Maybe the jeep had a blowout. I'd believe that. Maybe Wade was driving the jeep like it was a low slung camaro, trying to act bad in front of his friends. I'd believe that.

No...any parent that allows their inexperienced child to drive a vehicle like a jeep is to blame. I'm f'n sick of hearing parents cry the blues after little johnny wraps his 400 HP boss mustang that his parents bought him for his 16th birthday, around a telephone pole, killing lil Johnny and his friends.

I will never vote for Kerry or Edwards but I'm sorry that anyone has to lose a child...Republican or Democrate. I understand the need to go after Edwards...but even if he is using his sons death as a spring board...I'm not stooping to that level. Have three kids and everyday thank God they are safe...a childs death should be a territory for greiving relatives NOT for political gain.

But friends have said the tragedy was behind his decision to challenge Republican Sen. Lauch Faircloth in 1998

Curse you, Lauch Faircloth, and your infernal wind-generating machine!

It was Bob Kerrey that recruited Edwards to run for office

I'm am very sorry that Edwards' lost their son in a terrible car accident .. it's every parents worse nightmare

However that is NOT a reason to elect him to be a Vice President

And the story about how he doesn't use his son's death ... then why is it in almost EVERY article I have read about John Edwards

Oh and that bottle of Gatorade ... it would get kind of moldy after 2 years

I just knew that a heart wrenching story would sway my vote to the Johns. Sorry, but I know as time goes on the stories will be flowing forth like a flood over my emotions and they will overcome me. Gee, I..I wish that the media could try to hold back all of the warmth when it comes to these loving and caring candidates.

And you know in your heart of hearts that if Bush and Cheney were more "human" that they too would be bestowed all of the adulation and sincere love that would be coming to them. Let's hope they too can "earn" the respect of the media.

Now, if you will pardon me I must find my way quickly to a porcelain convenience as I know I am about to spew.

What a load of tripe. He has done nothing to stop the exploitation of this tragedy nor has he done any pro bono legal work on behalf of MADD or any other traffic or child safety related causes.

Almost everything John and Elizabeth Edwards have done since the death of their 16-year-old son has been in memory of Wade or influenced by his tragic loss >

In simple terms - That is a symtom of mental illness. They need grief counseling.

I'm very sorry for him...but how disgusting to use his son's death as a political tool. It's absolutely reprehensible.
