It's the misspelling of "Quayle" I can't excuse...
Oh..... RATS!
I was worried about that because I thought it was a bit different, and even checked on the net. There were pages of "Quale" spellings and I assumed that was right.
Admin.. Could you fix it? (I know I'm asking a lot - tolerate a vanity and fix it too).
"It's the misspelling of "Quayle" I can't excuse..."
LOL! I thought the same thing, then I thought - 'Wait - it's great satire based on Quayle's misspelling of "potato".
Yeah, let's destroy him as a person, not take the "hard" route of discrediting him on what he says, his voting record, etc.
I believe Quale is an archaic way of spelling Quayle....
Potato/potatoe :-)
I believe Edwards is a 90's way of spelling thief.
Its only fitting that Kerry picked Edwards as his running mate, as the both have the worst attendance (non-voting) record in the U.S. Senate. Their choice to put personal political aspirations ahead of their constituients' concerns shows what will happen if they are elected. God help if they are!
It will be tough. Edwards is one of the three people described in a book (from some years ago) on public speaking. The book rates Reagan, Clinton, and Edwards as the best three public speakers in the last 25 years.
ha. cool point. what is the combined voted/missed vote
tally for these two?
That, public speaking, is a problem. This is the fair-haired boy.
Classic.
Go for defining Edwards a la Quayle, I say! Hard to do because Edwards is, well, smarter than Dandy Dan, but that makes doing so as soon as possible very important.
Good luck!
(PS-Spare me the, "Dan Quayle is really a genius and is the victim of some left-wing conspiracy." If Dan really was smart and competent, he would have overcome the aspersions cast upon his intelligence like GWB did.)
GWB did? When did that happen? ;)
On the defense of marriage act.
"I am for states rights but if the republicans are for it I must be against it. Let me check with Kerry and I will get back to you."
As of June 16, 2004, Edwards had missed 64 of the 119 roll call votes conducted by the the Senate (54% non-voting record). Only John Kerry has a record this poor (much worse). NC's "junior" Senator, Elizabeth Dole (Republican), was present at ALL roll call votes, voting yea or nah at every one.
It should be spelled 'Eagleton'.
OK, one more time: Dan Quayle did not misspell potato. He was at a Trenton (N.J.) Dept. of Education spelling bee and was handed the "potatoe" card by a school administrator. When the student spelled "potato," Quayle showed him the card that had the "potatoe" spelling.
When I worked for the Trenton Times, my editors beat that story to death over the years, repeatedly interviewing the student and others. The kid absolutely refused to blame Quayle and he was there!!!
This was simply a prolonged and unrelenting attack on Quayle but the liberal media.
