These people would have readily consumed Hitler and Stalin's own propaganda (AND BELIEVED IT) in the quest for "balance" against the US media.
Funny how their quest for balance never includes listening to the conservative positions which are never communicated in the media.
"Bush spokesman Dan Bartlett had told the White House press corps that the movie was "outrageously false" -- even though he said he hadn't seen the movie."
I saw the movie, and I can say it was outrageously false.
Sometimes you don't need to see a film or counter all of its arguments and "facts" to condemn it.
"Sometimes you don't need to see a film or counter all of its arguments and "facts" to condemn it."
A friend downloaded a video cam rip from the internet, so I got to watch it in a comforatable living room, not a theatre full of LLL.
I'm glad I saw it. Now when some loser challenges, "how can you say it's full of crap, man, when you haven't seen it, man!" then I can say I've seen it and speak better to it's lies than if I hadn't seen it. Also, I know directly how gullible the people are who buy it.
THe fact that he played up Costa Rica as a member of the coalition and a few other little countries but never mentions the Aussies or Brits is a little suspicious for starters. The whole thing is an exercise in propagandistic deception.
Even Hitchens skewered it. Hell, even ISIKOFF skewered it.
I wish somebody would start a new thread on it. I know that our outrage over the Dixie Chicks helped make it a national story; I hope publicity of Dale Jr.'s comments would help do the same thing.
Exactly. Not to mention that Friedman is a gossip columnist.
I may be able to view a bootleg of this (if not a genuine release). Not of my possession but at acquaintences homes.
Even Micheal Moore has supposedly said that he doesn't get hurt by these non-commercial bootleg screenings.
He should be careful, I'm liable to jump out of my seat if the horsesh!& gets too high (and we all know THAT'S gonna happen).
Seriously though, I've had a few friends pumped about this film, a few speculative, and a few closeted conservatives that know what a crapload it is. I never nod my head in agreement and I don't particularly feign apathy. I know what drunk bums these useful idiots are and ignore their politicking altogether.
I did talk with my "speculative" friend and plan to show him Disney's WWII feature "Victory Through Airpower" this week. It is propaganda (but it does not pull punches with the Germans or Japanese) and is designed to change the government's military strategy (for the better, not appeasement). It worked when Churchill recommended to FDR to SEE THIS MOVIE.
My speculative friend is one of the guys who buys into the "republicans are the party of rich guys" but he also knows that Kerry is even richer than GWB and that Kerry has pledged to raise taxes. He feels damned if you do and damned if you don't.
He works for the airlines and was directly impacted when flights got grounded after 9/11. He has found steady work now (in his field) so he does not blame the administration.
I don't seek to "win him over" to conservativism (although I don't see many thorns over the issues). I think that he is still skeptical when I call some on the left communists or antiAmericans but then he has been sheltered from the visions of the left in America that I have seen and personally encountered.
It was still foolish to "encourage" others to pay to see this tripe.
The Vichy Chippies were more direct in their AntiAmericanism (voiced on foreign soil).
Regarding the "Earnhardt Oil slick" , I sent a shout out to Sean hannity,
I hope he brings it up on the air, If it is true I would like to see ol'Bump and run jr, get a rash inside that fire suit.
Please help by hitting him back intelligently:

"I heard about his ignorance (feigned or genuine but "ignored" all the same) of nations like England and Poland (and Spain?)."
NONE of them are mentioned.
He plays up Iceland, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Morocco.
That email name looks suspiciously like a (former?) FReeper account name.
Don't think so. The guy was actually a business contact I once had. Suspiciously left wing, no doubt.
Had already asked him once to remove my name. Now I leave it to other Freepers to bombard him with Anti-Moore facts.
And thanks.
