The FCC alleges. A hearing decides the validity of the charge. Also, there exists a difference of opinion as to what constitutes obscenity. Howard Stern pointed to an Oprah program that featured explicit descriptions of sexual positions, which just happened to be one of the offenses cited against Stern.

The station will feature an aggressive attitude targeting Stern's core audience, largely adult males.
Stern's core audience is pre adolescent brain dead males.

so what? You questioned the use of the word alleged. I clarified why I used the word. I never absolved Howard Stern but pointed out that anything charged is alleged until proven. Your cogent reply is quoted above.

ok, but stern did air that comment, and it's obscene. I wasn't talking in the "legal" sense.

I just finished Dean Koontz's latest novel titled
The Taking. Extremely good! Basically, the book deals with a one day invasion and take over of the planet by Satan and his forces. The novel mixes science with the supernatural as Koontz makes the argument that either is interchangable and indistinguishable from one another. And why does this taking occur? Koontz believes the same reason God caused the flooding of the Earth, Sodom and Gomorrah - because we as humans have become too tolerant. Too tolerant of murder and other crimes against us.
We allow people like Stern to become hero's with a movie made about his life. Where is the movie about Walt Disney? We protest against a movie portraying the last hours of Jesus and yet promote movies and "music videos" that promote violence against women. It is a strange world and one I am becoming increasingly uncomfortable with.
People on the forum like Stern. I thought he was funny at one time. I now miss the Bob Hopes, George Burns, Jack Benny's, Steve Allens, et al. It may sound elitist, but I consider myself above Stern and I like to think that this forum is above Stern. I have become intolerant of him and it would be a better place in the United States if more thought the same and turned him off. Just my opinion.

I've never said the remark came from him. I said he decided to air it. Your inability to see this point lets me know you know this, but are an unreasonable Stern fan.
Stern is a legend in his own mind. Comparing himself to Christ for his own failings is pathetic. Blaming his problems on Bush may be a sign of mental illness, at the very least a personality problem.
