Probably not. I suspect I would pull up roots and move.
Last year I had a coversation with a potential customer in a non-work related setting. This man thought Bill Clinton hung the moon. He didn't believe that Clinton had transferred missle technology to China for campaign contributions. He didn't see anything wrong with Clinton lying under oath about having an affair. I thought to myself - this is one unreasonable person. The last thing I need is to establish a business relationship with someone I consider to be delusional. Not that I have to worry about him ever becoming a customer anymore. I told him just what I thought of him and his boy, Bill Clinton.
I suggest a large American flag instead.
However, I would like to find a tasteful banner which supported our Armed Forces in Iraq which I could put up. Does anyone have suggestions?
I have applied for 501c(3) tax-exempt status for my educational website, according to IRS rules I am not allowed to display any political ads.
Even before I applied for the 501c(3) I turned down Democrat and PETA ads (which my ad server tried to sneak in as "default PSAs". When I complained to them they removed the PETA PSAs from their server rotation.
I recently had to find a AC supplier. The name of his company, "All American" caught my eye. Also the listing of a 10 year warranty! We got three quotes and with with him.
Hurray for Bush/Cheney bumper stickers - more should be done. All over New York City streets recently, I have seen youngsters (who don't look much more than 17 yrs old) hawking for Kerry with "...do you want to beat George Bush?... sign up to beat Bush," etc.
Doesn't look like they know too much about politics and are just interested in that summer job. In fact, they almost look to be just out of diapers!
What is being done to counteract this?
bump for later
Exactly. I don't want to alienate liberals. I want to take their money, and lots of it.
I have a tag line at the bottom of my company e-mail:
"This company does NOT support the troops."
When I asked for the company to gather and send items for the troops, they told me it was a "solicitation." So I asked about the blood drive and United Way. The answer was that the company agreed to support these "solicitations."
Hence my e-mail addition. Waiting to be fired but who cares.
Pretty gutsy. Has anyone noticed or commented on your tag line yet?
Red
Not yet. It's one of those things that people tend to ignore unless they really concentrate on it.
When they want 100% response to United Way this year, it isn't going to happen.
The funny part was that they set up a 15 minute conference call between me and the H.R. person at Corporate Headquarters. They did NOT want to put the response in writing obviously.
Off subject - did you take that I-40 driving trip from CA to MN?
this is a great question. It comes down to personal belief. Democrats have no problem openly showing their support for their candidate, but Conservatives have always been the quiet type. It's time to step up and be proud of who you are. I don't own a business so I can't tell you what to do, but I where my Bush/Cheney reelection shirt everywhere here in San Francisco. I get dirty looks from people all the time who think I'm crazy, but I also get people who come up and thank me. A sign in a store doesn't deter me personally, but I can only speak for myself. My personal opinion is it's time for Conservatives to step up and be more vocal and proud of who you are and where you stand on the issues. Enough hiding in the corner. I am proud of President Bush and I openly support him. Sorry I couldn't be more help, but follow your heart. You need to feel good about the decision you make. If your not comfortable with it, there are other things you can do. Volunteer, attend rallies, etc.
No.
Have you taken a look at what's happened to Big Stupid Government's budget during his tenure? The Federal Deficit?
How about his happily signing off on CFR, aka The Assault on The First Amendment?
Or his trillion-dollar "free" pill scam, stealing our money to buy votes from Greedy Geezers?
And you support more of this? Want more examples of his enthusiasm for Big Stupid Republican Government?
This is just one of the many pro-Bush/Cheney or pro-Republican things on my site.
My site 0cents.com is a political site so I really don't care.
OTOH, I refuse to manufacture anything for a Lib or a Dem!
Nice for you. :) My daughter's law partner has a Kerry sign in their law office window. She is very conservative, (28) and cannot discuss politics with him, (he's 70 years old) because he screams at her! He wants to pay more taxes, can you believe that? She put a Bush/Cheney sign on her office door. lol
Why p!$$ off 49.5% of your customers?
I don't have a commercial web presence (I've got more work than I can handle from local businesses), but if I did, I certainly wouldn't put any sort of political paraphenalia there.
I don't know if its true or not, but I've heard it said that approximately 40 percent of the electorate habitually vote conservative/Republican, 40 percent liberal/Democrat, and the remaining 20 percent swing either way or to third parties. I see no logic in possibly alienating at least 40 and possibly up to 60 percent of my customer base just to make a point.
