I think the public schools need a few less adminstrators and a few more teachers.

I think they should but a lot of the reasons why there are bad students is because there are bad adminstrators.

Music to my ears. Too many pricipals are the beneficiaries of school pride.

I hold the NEA in utter contempt, and that goes for many of the public "school" teachers and administrators as well. But the PRINCIPAL reason for bad students is not bad principals, it's BAD PARENTS!!!

A child who is reared well at home will be good and do well in any school setting, no matter how bad the administration. A child who is reared badly (or not reared at all) will disrupt and fail, no matter how good the administration.

The child will fail, but the school will pass them anyway. I've even discussed this with a few teachers that I know - they don't like it, but they also don't want the same troublemakers back in their room again. That's why I suggested booting the errant students out of the system.

Its not that I'm in favor of leaving a child behind, but I am certainly not in favor of stopping the other students' progress because a handful of trouble makers can't behave. Sacrifice the few to benefit the many. Actually, let the few sacrifice themselves for the benefit of the many. The school wouldn't be failing them - they'd be failing themselves.
