That makes sense. I was thinking that whoever appointed Wilson may have felt duped by Plame, but you are saying that it may have been more of a CYA thing.
Wasn't the guy Valerie's boss at the CIA -- who has since "retired" after being outed?

James Pavitt was Valerie Plame's boss. So was George Tenet.

I guess the intriguing thing, Tim, on the whole thing, this question of whether or not the Iraqis were trying to acquire uranium in Africa. In the British report, this week, the Committee of the British Parliament, which just spent 90 days investigating all of this, revalidated their British claim that Saddam was, in fact, trying to acquire uranium in Africa. What was in the State of the Union speech and what was in the original British White papers. So there may be difference of opinion there. I don’t know what the truth is on the ground with respect to that, but I guess—like I say, I don’t know Mr. Wilson. I probably shouldn’t judge him. I have no idea who hired him and it never came...

I've seen some things that makes me think the leftist think they are cooking up something really big here. A few blogs about the media where they talk about the big liberal media outlets salavating and that this is going to make watergate look like kids play. They are suggesting the president and vice president are going to be charged and impeached for treason. They have gone off the deep end or even further off I should say. There are really groups of leftist that are holding there breath this very moment thinking the shoe is going to drop any second.

Joe Wilson works for the Saudi funded Middle East Institute. This should have sent warning bells off in the press, but that wouldn't fit with their agenda.
