It's not clear whether Kerry or Bush is favored by the majority of Americans here. None of the thousands of U.S. military personnel based in Afghanistan to hunt for al-Qaida and Taliban rebels turned up for Thursday's event.
Jeezus, do they even read what they write anymore?

Did it strike any of the attendees as odd that the only reason they could meet and demonstrate support for Kerry is because US MILITARY PERSONNELL WERE ASSURING (WITH THEIR LIVES)THEIR RIGHT AND SECURITY TO DO SO?

Hirschfeld accused the Bush administration of pushing too hard for the first post-Taliban election in September which has been scheduled according to a constitutionally binding agreement but overshadowed by a virulent Taliban-led insurgency. "The U.S. needs a foreign policy success before November by pulling off democratic elections in Afghanistan. I'm not sure the country is ready for it," she said. Gee, now why would THAT be, Ms. Hirschfield--wacked out Anybody-But-Bush supporter?

"It's important to show that there are Americans everywhere, even in Afghanistan, who want a change of leadership in the United States," said organizer Karen Hirschfeld, who is helping Afghans get ready for this year's national elections."
I would say this article is bogus, or Hirschfeld was misquoted.
We all know the Dims don't use the words "change of leadership". They say regime change.

They are from Mass. Liberal dems from Kerrys home state. This is like pointing out the sky is blue.

While many at the fund-raiser said they had supported the U.S.-led invasion of Afghanistan to topple the Taliban for harboring Osama bin Laden Just "many"? That's all? Geez.

Would military protocol allow troops to attend such an event?
To: kattracks
These people do not realize that if Kerry is elected their lives won't be worth a plugged nickel if they stay there.

It´s a shame What is a shame is that of all the reasons mentioned for supporting Kerry, not one had to do with the welfare of the Afghan people.

Why would the military show up? Afterall Kerry has not found it necessary to visit the troops as of yet. He hasn't even bothered to visit the wounded at Walter Reed. You think thy don't notice that?
