I went to the Barnes and Noble in D.C. where Clinton will be signing books on July 7 to get the book and to check out the store for our freep of the book signing.

It was lunchtime and the store was busy with people purchasing My Life at 30 to 40 percent off (B&N card holders get an extra 10% discount.) A Fox News babe was going through the line of people at the cash register asking them if they wanted to talk about the book on camera. She wasn't getting any takers so when she got to me I said I'd do an interview (just trying to be helpful, of course.)

She told me she'd interview me after I got through the line. As I waited to get to the register I started going through the index and noticed a host of prominent figures were missing from Bill's version of his presidency. Names like Matt Drudge, but also people like James Riady, John Huang and Johnny Chung.

The first question the reporter asked was why was I buying the book. I told her it was for opposition research. I informed her I was with the D.C. Chapter of FreeRepublic.com and that we, as well as other FR chapters around the country, were going to be protesting Clinton at his book signings and wanted to know what he had put in his book (and what was left out.)

I opened the book to the index to make the point that people like Riady and Chung were not mentioned and that it looked like Clinton didn't want people to focus on the Chinese money/missile technology scandal.

The reporter asked what I thought of John Kerry allying himself with Clinton as opposed to Al Gore having kept him at arm's length in 2000. I answered that Clinton had hurt the Democrats immensely while helping the Republicans become the majority party in the country from the federal to the state levels of government. I strongly encouraged Kerry to "run with Bill Clinton."

The interview lasted about five minutes. I figured I'd make the cut because I was the odd man out of those buying the book, but one never knows until the report is run.

Thanks for all the kind words. It was just fortunate happenstance, but with all the research freepers like Alamo-Girl have done on the Clinton years it made it easy to quickly analyze the book.
