Still under the delusion that islam is a religion, huh? Well, it may be, in some remote meaning of the word. It has yet to prove itself in isolation, where there are no non-believers to offer up as blood sacrifices.
C-town is, indeed, a great town ... it's my hometown (I live in Florida now, though). Visited family in Columbus last week and had dinner at a restaurant in Polaris Fashion Place. LOTS of people, a prime terror target. I'll admit to being nervous the whole time I was there with my 5-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter.
Where is Standing Wolf when you need him?
The image of the star and moon on most flags of islamic countries is not actually a star, but Venus, and it is not actually the crescent moon but the horns of the bull. Islam has taken many older symbols from prior regional religions and redefined them.
Probably the husband/wife mayor/librarian team.
I can honestly say I have never felt frightened of terror when at that mall. I guess I just go by the thought of "if it happens, it happens."
God's will be done.
They just want a goat meat cart at the food court...
(mock)AP REPORT:
BUSH BLAMED FOR TERRORIST HAVING A PLAN
It is reported today that in spite of the Bush Administration's years long war on terror, terrorist were actually still able to form a plan to strike at America.
"This is shocking proof of the kind of incompetence that seems so prevailent in the Bush White House," said Sen. Patty Murray, (D-Washington).
"You have to wonder what they do all day," said Presidential hopeful John Kerry (D-Massachusetts), "They are all talk and no action."
The Bush Administration, in it's defense, pointed out that they had actually found out about the plot and foiled it, but that didn't stop their opponents from piling on.
"It's unbelivable!" said Sen. Minority Leader Tom Dashle... etc.
I probably read too much of the Threat Matrix threads. :-)
Deport all Muslims.Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;

I was thinking more along the lines of the City Center, simply because it is in the heart of the city and it's got underground parking garages.
Change "Islam" to "Islamism" and I agree --deport summarily.
Change "Islam" to "Islamism" and I agree --deport summarily.Better, though I still say we need to maintain due process, lest we become "them". But keep in mind that many wish to blur the distinction between "Islam" and "Islamists". Ironically, the fundamentalist radicals wish to blur that distinction as well.

California recently ruled that having public school students wear hijab, pray to Mecca and shout "Allahu akbar" for 2 weeks was not studying religion...only Muslim culture. So we would only be deporting a particularly dangerous cultural aberration.
C-town is, indeed, a great town ... it's my hometownMinor technicality here, "C-town" = Cleveland. "C-Bus" = Columbus. "The 'Nati" = Cincinnati. "Chi-Town" = Chicago.
I can't include Pittsburgh on the list, I might get banned if I did. >:)

Thanks for the ping Samwise. I've been gone from Columbus for three months almost. The last year I was there I saw a huge influx of Somali's. Mind you they had been coming for a couple of years thanks to Catholic Charities and other church organizations but it was on the rise. They moved into public housing and use the WIC and other welfare programs. We feed, cloth and house these people while Americans should be getting a tax break and foreigners who cannot support themselves should not be allowed in. /rant
