I'll bet anything Harold Ickes has something on everyone who signed this letter. It's been coordinated with an identical letter in England

I'd sure that's a pretty good bet

Saudi Arabia?

It would be no surprise, would it, if at least a third of the diplomats were on the Saudi payroll? Just as Joseph C. Wilson IV was.

Adm. Crowe also has a Saudi connection, via Bioport.

Losers? OK, but this conference will flood the media and take over where Abu Grebe left off. Forget the Swift Boat Guys, this conference will get far more exposure ad nauseum.

I know most of the former diplomats on the list. They are career foreign service officers, which makes it worse in my mind than if they were political appointees. They are using their former positions to attack a sitting President while we are at war. This politicizes career employees who are supposed to be apolitical as far as carrying out US foreign policy. They certainly have a right to become politically involved as citizens and retired USG employees, but they should not be using their former status to promote their political views.

As an aside, more than a few of them are looking for USG jobs under Kerry.

"to announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." - Theodore Roosevelt. In other words, they have the right to question what our President is doing. And they have the right to notify the public.

They have the right, but it does harm and impair the ability of current foreign service officers to advise the President and his appointees. If there is a perceived political agenda, our nation's interests are not being served. They are doing more than expressing their opinions, they are taking sides in the election.

Just as these cretinous anti-American weasels have the right to speak freely in our nation, so do patriotic Americans have the right to despise each and every retired diploquisling and each and every leftist retired military leader who has turned his back on our nation's interests who uses the freedom of speech to undermine American interests.

Phonetically pronounced, General Hoar was well and accurately named. He has a portable red light, a portable mattress, a sack of quarters and reflexively uses his old military rank in service to his nation's enemies.

Sure makes one wonder who they supported when they were in positions of power. As an x military myself I am now coming to understand why so called leaders in the military opted for defeat and not victory. Thank goodness these leftw-ing nuts are out of poer. However, the coverage they got from the left-wing media proves once again the bias of the anti-American media.

Actually, if you look at the list, they are virtually all diplomats, with very few military people. A more accurate name for the group would be "Aging, Retired Ex-Diplomats Who Never Had Much Faith in the Use of Force and Who Believe You Can Negotiate with 8th Century Islamo-Fascists (With a Few Military Types Thrown in for Show) for Kerry.
