During a campaign tour of the Apache Nation Wednesday, Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry said he had a plan to increase every Native American's income by $40,000 a year. Senator Kerry refused repeated requests for details of his plan, however. He also told the Apaches that during his Senate career, he has voted YES 9,637 for every Indian issue ever introduced.

Before his departure, the Apache Tribe presented the Presidential candidate a plaque inscribed with his new Indian name, Running Eagle.

After Kerry left, tribal officials explained that Running Eagle is a bird so full of crap it can't fly."

Subject: The Farmer and the Donkey -
One of Life's Lessons.

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.

Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.

At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well.

He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up.

Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!

Moral #1:

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up.

Each of our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out of the deepest wells just
by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.

The donkey later came back and bit the farmer who had tried to bury him.

The gash from the bite got infected, and the farmer
eventually died in agony from septic shock.

The Virginia Islamic Center is just up the road from me, and I pass it often going to and from work...often, there are Chesterfield Police Officers standing post when they are having services, protecting the Islams from rednecks like me...LOL!! I'm proud to say there's never been any disturbances.

FYI, just wanted to let everyone know that I probably won't be able to post for the next few days or so. My father-in-law just had an angioplasy a couple of days ago, and we stayed at the hospital and helped him at home for a few days, and just as we got back from his place, my wife went into a grocery store, slipped and fell in a wet spot that wasn't cleaned up, and wound up with a hairline fracture in her foot and her lower leg in a cast. Needless to say, it hasn't been a fun couple of days. :-(

So, provided we have no other ailments in my immediate family, I should be back in the next few days. In the meantime, I trust Bush will do enough stupid things to keep me loaded with ammunition for my arguments when I return. See you soon.
