God bless Lady Thatcher. She and Ronnie made a great pair.
To: MadIvan
Wonderful to see your posts again, MadIvan! Your perspective has been missed. I'm so glad Lady Thatcher was able to attend President Reagan's services.
I just returned from an enjoyable vacation in the UK. The weather was beautiful and particular satisfaction came from visiting the country of a staunch ally.

Prime Minister Thatcher is someone for whom I have a deep respect.
When everyone else was saying "Don't you DARE touch Col. Kadaffy!", she gave us support.

Thanks for posting..as I have written before...the FIRST instance, post Vietnam, of the West's resolve to be a force for good in the world was Maggie's refusal to accept the Argentinian appropriation of the Falklands..

When the world needs help it turns to America. When America needs help we turn to Britian. Your friendship is the one thing that's never in doubt.

For technical reasons I missed much of the funeral. However, I did see her. She looked elegant. A great person.

Thank God these two had each other as uniquely supportive friends during that crucial time. Both nations, and the world, benefitted from it. It's sad now. May God's blessings be upon her.

Let me join the list of those glad to see you back on this forum. And thank you for the wonderful pictures of those two great leaders. How could we have been so fortunate as to have them both in at the same time?

God was good to put these two in power together. They drew strength and support from each other.
I was glad to see her, although it must have cost her to make the trip. Grief is often harder on a body than physical effort.

How sad it is for the world to not have these two true Conservatives giants in power ever again. The sorrow we feel is not only in the loss of President Reagan but of our country. Conservatism in the Republican Party is dead and will never rise again.

She was so regal. An electric moment. She appeared to me to drop a little curtsy.
