You're welcome :) Thank you for your assistance and encouragement on the homeschool front.
I have always suspected that schools did this.
When my son was in 2nd or 3rd grade they tested all the students for speech problems and sent a letter home saying he had a speech impediment. His father and I never noticed. I asked his doctor, teacher, his grandmother and several others if they noticed anything wrong with his speech. None of them did. His dad didn't want him to go to speech classes but Dan wanted to because he had another friend that was going. We finally relented and gave permission for him to attend. At that time we didn't know that schools got extra funding for this type of thing.
Psychiatrists are always fast to prescribe no matter the situation. Before consulting one, I would advise that a person talk to a trained psychologist before embarking on any treatment with medication...especially where children are concerned. Less is more.
As for the man in in the article, he did the right thing and I would have done the same. What kind of convoluted system penalizes a parent for looking out for his child's welfare? Change is definitely needed.
Granted, some good cops out there are just too zealous and act as attack dogs and enforcers of CPS and what not.
It's just that while CPS is indeed the secret police agenda, I can't stand to see those cops on TV romancing their actions and the way their portray the suspects they apprehend, hanging them instead of investigating. They may not be the actual fascists, but certainly collaborate.
