The New York Times again makes a fool out of itself! Let's face it, Bill Clinton should not even be mentioned in the same breath as Ronald Reagan. And....as for John Kerry, the man should be treated like the war "Traitor" he is. John Kerry and the Democrat Party are going down big time this November. Every Republican, every conservative, every American, etc. that cares about America better get their butts out to vote and destroy this horrible political party that is bent on destroying freedom in America. The good Lord that watches over the USA has sent us his powerful sign in taking Ronald Reagan home to his real father and the eternity of peace and greatness. Reagan, like Lincoln, Roosevelt and Washington now belongs to the ages!

"It's going to overshadow Kerry and Bush for the entire week," Oh, and even sweeter, it will not allow the media to fawn over Billyboy's book.

Oh, and even sweeter, it will not allow the media to fawn over Billyboy's book. Hahahahahahahahaha....Reagan sticks it to 'em one last time.

It did not take the Times very long to start the deconstruction and negativity. Thene again if rteagan had died on a weekday, the coverage would have been much more negative already. The Times cannot resist Monday Am bashing.

I don't know why you typed AP as the source from the article when it came from the New York Slimes and the link leads back to the Slimes

I think the trick is to use an old tried and true phrase ...
There they go again
Dignity is a winning strategy.
Now if only Bush would pick up a few more of the Gipper's ideals, things would be grand.

No, they're doing it cause John F*ckin' wouldn't get media coverage. More tastelessness from the party that thinks being classy is beneath them.Didn't JFK buy $14 million dollars in ads this month? Will he run them this week?

I've never seen a candidate for president take so much time off as Kerry. A week ski trip, then a week for elective surgery, now a week for Reagan's funeral. Of course he'll take a week off for both conventions and the "traditional" week off after his nomination convention to plan the general election campaign, and a week to prepare for the first debate.Just take a look here and see how many roll-call votes Kerry missed this year just from January 20, of this year
Rool call votes Kerry missed since January 20, 2004

The freaking liberal Bill Schneider at CNN was already warning Bush and Republicans Sat. night that they shouldn't use Pres. Reagan's funeral for politics because of what had happened to the dems after the Wellstone funeral. Puhh-Leeze~! We won't be pumping our fists in the air while yelling "We will win!" during his funeral. We won't yell expletives at democrats who attend the funeral. We won't force the likes of the opposition to actually get up and leave the funeral like Trent Lott and Jessie Ventura had to. You only get one of these. There are no do-overs. We will make it classy.

Apparently the NYT editorial today credits Reagan's success to timing and luck....Shows you how much they know! If the liberals and their uncritical fans in the press think that 49-state landslides and continued adoration 20 years after leaving office are a result of "timing and luck", let them. If they think winning elections is about timing and luck, Kerry is a cooked goose.

But they are scared spitless that this will remind the country of what crap Reagan had to put up with from the left and what they have been doing to Bush is very similar. It's more than that. Americans are getting a week-long television commercial to remind them of why a conservative president is an asset to the nation and to their lives.
Providence is with us. Reagan was called home to God at a time most advantegous to Bush... and it hurts Kerry and further complicates the Clinton book tour.

Exactly. Thanks for the concern and advice, Bill Schneider (the man is a piece of crap).
Like we'd ever behave like a bunch of low-class has-beens.

And Republicans said there were risks in too conspicuously invoking Mr. Reagan as part of Mr. Bush's campaign. I noticed over the weekend that Republicans were conspicuously not invoking the similarities between Presidents Reagan and Bush, although the parallel was obvious to anyone with a brain.

Bush has the chance to complete a triple crown this Friday. Everyone (even Libs) praised his speech at the AF ACademy as one of the best of his Presidency, He followed that up with a homerun Yesterday in france, he can cap it off before the entire nation Friday with an Emotional thought-provoking Eulogy of the greatest President of my lifetime.

This is exactly the Strategy that Republicans need to take too. Put Reagan's record, legacy and what he stood for out there -- BUT do not campaign on it, just make sure that it is out there, and let America make the comparison.

I had the impression that was the strategy -- not verbally pointing out the similarities of the two Presidents but just discussing their policies and achievements which are almost identical.

It has a very 'Soviet' feel that they consider the body of the man they claim to honor only as a rallying point for their 'revolution.'
