I call it HOME
put what in the lease?
Steve, what are you smoking on? As the previous poster said..... CHRISTMAS TREE FARMS!!!!! ALL THEY DO IS GROW CHRISTMAS TREES. If anything, this industry is helping the earth, by putting oxygen back into it, so you're bright self can breathe.
First you have to have a permit, then it must be of an approved type, be installed by a licensed sprinkler company and be inspected yearly.
Isn't this what cheap beer in cans is for? The thing flares up, you dump your beer on it. Building codes, my ass.
Thankfully...this stupid and un-enforceable rule was overturned by the State Building Commission when they met a couple weeks ago in Spokane. There will be NO ban on outdoor BBQ's in condos or apartments UNLESS local communities decide to put up such a ban themselves. And, I can say with a fair amount of certainty, that ANY city government officials who try THAT will be EX-city officials come next election.
Once people heard about this, such a HUGE hue and cry went up that they had no choice but to comply with OUR wishes. Thanks to folks like KVI's John Carlson for bringing this idiocy to our attention.
I lived in an apartment building for over 23 years until a couple years ago when i got a house. Over that period, there were 2 bad fires started due to charcoal grills in my county. Being a lifetime griller myself, for most of the time I had a gas grill but given the potential damages of an untendered grill, I grudgingly have to agree with the law.
That being said, I firmly believe that gas grills are a heck of a lot safer than charcoal and if any concessions can be made then gas grills should be allowed to stay......
I would really like to know how many fires were started from barbecues on decks....

My first thought too. Looks like more nanny statism to make the PETA types happy.
No grilling on or under a wooden deck or balcony. No grilling on patios near the building. Grill only in the grills provided by the management in the common areas. - variants on these, padded with appropriate legalese.
Actually that is not quite correct. Following the passing of a city ordinance banning patio grills in apartment complexs and a complex makes an official notification to each and every tenant that grills of any sort will no longer be allowed, you must comply. Failure to comply will result in the legal eviction of those who fail to comply.
This is the best I can find from the National Fire Incident Reporting System (United States Fire Administration/FEMA). This is for the first three months of 2003:
This died.
Thanks. One firefighter on this thread said he's been to a bunch of such patio BBQ fires.
I think you need to turn on your sarcasm detector. And I am not far off from reality. You have never heard environuts complaining about Christmas trees before? Even here in NC, where Christmas trees are BIG BUSINESS and exported all over the environwackos complain about it.
