I remember the weekend that the Jesse Dirkhising rape/murder occurred, and how there were many Freepers outside of the Little Rock metro region who doubted that the thread about it (not linked at the time to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, which covered the crime from the beginning) was a true story because they hadn't read about it in their hometown newspaper.
