I keep saying that, except I refer to it as a "FOX reality show".....:))
You gotta admit, having Christopher Walken play Streiber was a stroke of insane genius.

Bet you Gore has a financial investment in the film.

No one clapped at the end.No one clapped at the end of The Passion of the Christ either, but that was because we were just so emotionally overwhelmed. Please tell me that wasn't the case for this turd. Of course, being that most of the people in the audience were probably hard core Rats, it wouldn't surprise me.

No one knows how fast or why, -- the ice age effects you describe could develop, but the possibility of 'superstorms', freezing downbursts, etc. -- have some scientific basis.
Sure, the movie has a political axe to grind. Very few don't.
Get a grip, and ignore the propaganda. - Or better yet, use the movie to point out the ludicrous 'theory' that mans puny actions can cause global 'warming/cooling' effects. -- Excellent opportunity to teach young folks that this has been going on for millions of years.

Quaid is known only as "The Rookie" in my house!

...a perfect movie for Mystery Science Theatre 3000. Why'd they quit that show? It was a hoot. A good question. Back when it was on, it seemed fun. But with the last few years of movies, it seems necessary

Let an old-time MSTie fill you in...
MST3K had simply gotten too expensive for Sci-Fi as compared to its ratings (which were not stellar.) In order to show each episode, the network running the series must -also- acquire the rights to each -movie.- That is why Sci-Fi only showed a relatively few eps over the past year or two...most of the rights to many of the movies had expired and it was too expensive to acquire them again.

You just can keep a "good" Leftist down.Oops, that was supposed to be "can't" (with a healthy dose of sarcasm).

How could we ever prove that?

During our "big storm" the other day, I was sitting in the 4Runner outside of Tractor & Supply whilst hubby went in for dog food.
Just as he went through the door, all weather-hell broke loose.
Horizontal rain mixed with hail suddenly poured down upon me like the wrath of a hundred Nordic gods.
Well over 60 mph wind gusts rocked the 4Runner to-and-fro.
Hopelessly, I switched on the wipers so that I could at least watch the meteorological mayhem that enveloped me.
All I accomplished by doing that was to have a good close-up view of an 8-foot circular galvanized steel stock tank trying to decide whether it felt like remaining earthbound....or not.
Just as suddenly, the deafening deluge *stopped*.
There was a moment of discomfiting silence.
The sun came out, the store's resident birds returned and recommenced their merry chirping as though nothing unusual had happened.
[in a perfect world, "Carmina Burana: O Fortuna" would've been playing on the CD, but then again I'm the type that likes to stand outside and watch the lightning]

Sounds like the special effects has to carry the movie. Are they at least worth a glance?
To: Rebelbase
From what I've read about this movie, it sounds like it has the potential to be a camp classic -- maybe it could be the "Showgirls" of disaster flicks!
To: Socratic
I loved that show! Co-starring my fave B-movie actor Whit Bissel!
To: Rebelbase
Or better yet rent it for $1 at McDonalds.
