The Democrats are always going to be seen as the party of government...

Right there it is!

The Red Star Tribune was apoplectic, and it showed in its coverage of Grams over his one term in office.

The non-stop Grams bashing by the state's leading newspaper put that empty suit Mark Dayton in the senate.

As a Minnesota resident for 50 years I can say that as far as I can see Minnesota will remain Democratic, or more to the point, Socialist. The highly motivated and active political groups are deeply entrenced and in control of the major institutions. a simple example: Minnesota Teachers Union have enough control to oust a 2 year sitting Republican Governor's Eduction Commissioner just because she challenged the entrenched liberal system.</ Kerry will win here easily, - Hillary would win in a landslide.

But since Kerry won't win......can we assume that Dayton goes..anyways?

To MN's Democrat liberals, the "dream," as EMK calls it, is "not dead." It was sidetracked in 2002. MN will vote heavily for the Kerry ticket in 2004 because people there still "dream" of "liberty, equality, and fraternity."

Moreover, the GOP is weak in MN in recent years because so many of the Republican voters are "moderates" who vote Democrat when the GOP offers a real conservative: Pawlenty, being the exception to that trend.

I agree. Minnesota Repulicans are Norm Coleman style Repulicans.

What votes or stands of Coleman's do you disagree with?

Don't missunderstand me - I somewhat like Coleman, he's a pragmatist - but most of his political career he was a Democrat and was kicked out because he was pro life. He is in favor of expanded Social Spending, especailly the expanded public school initiatives of GW.
