I guess I'm an old stick in the mud. I have to get used to the idea of blue roses.

Do wild roses count? I'm pretty sure I've seen blue tinged wild roses (they look like roses on steroids)as well as pink, in the boneyards of metro New York. They are at any rate VERY old plants.

Now, that the genetists have discovered a way to breed a blue rose, I have an even more daunting task for them:

Discover a way to breed offsring, of Democrats, that are intelligent. Of course, if the offspring are intelligent, they will grow up to be Republicans. :-)

I believe the red and blue colors will alternate between elections.

You're not the only one who recalls that. I too was stumped when they started labelling GOP states as red. All the time I grew up, they were always blue

It makes me look twice at the map, that's for sure.

But there aren't many acceptable colors for the other side, are there?

If we colored them yellow, well, that's pretty obvious.
Green, well, that's kind of like Kermit the Frog and his environmentalist buddies
Black and White are unacceptable for either party, I'm sure
Purple? Nope. Think of what that represents.
Orange? Maybe. The only association it brings to mind are the Protestants in Ireland.

I'm going to have a hard time getting used to this one. Not sure if I like it yet!

It'd be nice for the Rose Bowl Parade though.

"I actually object to the set color scheme. There is a very good reason why the D's don't want red, and their media handmaidens won't give it to them. The color red has powerful association with communism...and its failure.

You are correct, and I object, as well.

Cool! while I dont have roses - yet - I think they will be a spectacular addition to the species.......

Gads, thats all I need to get involved with now.....roses

Its all I can do just trying to figure out what to put in my flower boxes. FWIW, if its pretty, I pretty much stick them in there. There aint no rhyme or reason to my gardening, all I care about is color that continues to grow.........LOL!
