Who the hell said they were forgotten?! It was, undoubtedly, a painful decision when the FDNY realized that the fires were too intense to try to put out.
She said, "I was disappointed by Giuliani's testimony. I was bored by it."
If that's so, then she's one truly stupid twit.
Go to hell, Sally.
They should never have killed Sally Regenhard's son whoever "they" are. For 14 months, Regenhard has scattered blame like buckshot. Her accusations take aim at the "demonic, cave-dwelling barbarians" who piloted jets into the World Trade Center, the engineers who built the "house of cards" that fell on her firefighter son and the "idiotic bureaucrats" who approved its unconventional design...
Christian Regenhard, a writer, artist, mountain climber and bohemian world traveler, was studying fine arts at San Francisco State University in 2000 when his mother mailed him an ad about the New York fire department seeking recruits. He flew home, aced the written and physical tests and cut off his ponytail. He was a rookie when the five-alarm fire sounded on Sept. 11. Regenhard can't help but blame herself for sending him the ad."I bought into the aura that the New York City fire department was the best in the world ... that it was safe," she said, crying again. "I will regret it for as long as I live which better be another 50 years because I've got a lot of butt to kick."
Sally, I am very sincerely sorry for your loss. But let it go. The demonic cave dwellers killed your son. Not you. Not Guiliani. Not Bush. Not the FBI. Not the CIA.
The demonic cave dwellers did it.
Excellent points -- thank you!
Yes, excellent, but I still refuse to have any sympathy left. Sally needs a splash of cold wet tough love to get over her pain. Coddling her won't do it.
I don't know which prime-time griever it was, but one said today that Giuliani shouldn't have wasted the time of the 9/11 commission with his grandstanding.
Such poise is not often seen. Once again you are a hero, Mr. Giuliani. The commission also shows how gutless they are in not bringing their attacks to the man in charge.
Lehman was despicable comparing the firefighters and policemen who honorably risked their lives to save people, let alone the scores of them who died trying to save the lives of others to Boy Scouts.
Rudy did an excellent job in showing the true statesman that he is.
One side of the story? What exactly should have been done in the minds of some of the families? I'm getting beyond tired with their antics. Bad stuff happens, terrorists flew planes into buildings where their loved ones worked. Horrific stuff, but at some point, they need to buy into reality.
I can relate to poor Sally, to a degree. My son needed direction in his life. My husband & I encouraged him to join the military. He joined the Navy, and it has thus far been the greatest thing that could have happened. Of course I fear for his safety. God forbid he should die serving us. I would forever regret encouraging him to enlist. If he makes it through whatever time he chooses to stay in, without getting killed or seriously injured, I'll forever be grateful that he chose the military life. Hindsight is 20/20. We make the best decisions we can with the information we have. If he does die, and I go stark raving insane and start pointing the finger of blame at all the wrong people, I hope my husband has the good sense to take lessons in spousal abuse so he can shut me up before I publicly desecrate my son's memory, and everything he lived for. Where is poor Sally's husband, and why isn't he punching her mouth closed?
This remarkable statistic is buried, of course, halfway through the article.
343 firefighters, and 37 cops, died trying to save those people who were "simply forgotten about." What the bleep did this woman think the city could have done -- hired Superman? Put out a searchlight for Batman? Given Spiderman a call? This may be the most ridiculous 9/11 family member comment ever.
Yeah, everybody knows that firemen never die in the line of duty.
Again, they're behaving as if everyone knew on 9/11 that those buildings would be on the ground in ninety minutes.
There were no elevators working. The firemen had to take the stairs. Even if they'd managed to climb seventy to ninety stories in time, the fires were ten to fifteen stories high. Something like that can't be put out quickly.
They were heading up to the fire anyway, and that's why so many firemen died.
She keeps saying that, but I still don't know how she could possibly know whether he did or didn't hear a Mayday.
Lehman is on Fox now trying to justify what he said.
I think he is saying the communications networks for the city s/b just like what the military uses, including backup systems. The city does not have adequate command and control systems.
Who wrote this crap? Barbara Cartland?
looking strangely bulky
