You have to be either a stark raving lunatic, or an accomplished academic to come up with this sh!t.
Too bad he didn't take his gun and track down John Money. That would have been justice.
Now, with homosexual "marriage" being forced down America's throats by Leftist activist judges and pandering politicians, we can expect more of this type of perversion and decadence. We are doomed.
"What hath the Left wrought."
Or what hath the Devil wrought? And the answer is anything we allow him - therefore - we MUST resist the devil and THEN he will FLEE!
There was a documentary on TV a few years ago about this sort of thing. It was heartbreaking to see how people who had been mutilated as infants managed to survive as adults.
While Dr. Money obviously committed a horrific crime on this boy and his family, it's impossible to separate organic mental illness from the sex reassignment in analyzing David's short troubled life. A huge percentage of siblings, and especially identical twins, of schizophrenics are also schizophrenic or have some other serious mental disorder, so very likely David would have had some mental illness even without the sex reassignment. And while environmental factors seem to increase the incidence of these disorders in people who are genetically predisposed to them, environmental factors are not the primary cause.
While the twin brother was obviously suffering from severe mental illness, I have to wonder if the parents weren't a bit off to start with. After all, most parents who had a son damaged by a circumcision accident in that era didn't run off to the nutty Dr. Money to have their sons turned into girls. Those who considered it probably also consulted with other, ordinary doctors, who would have done a little research on Dr. Money and warned the parents to steer clear of him. These parents apparently didn't bother with getting other opinions, or else got them and ignored them. I'm afraid this family was doomed from the start, and Dr. Money just magnified their doom.
Being a liberal means never having to say you're sorry.

Perhaps you should read David's book before "rushing to judgement".
John Money.... how appropriate !
According to the book, as part of the "therapy," Money forced the two children to act out sexually with each other. That could have screwed up the other one, couldn't it?
It couldn't have caused schizophrenia. But the fact that the parents consented to this sort of "therapy" strengthens my suspicion that they weren't quite right in the head either. You don't need to be highly educated to sense that something is way wrong with that, and to seek out other professional opinions if you don't quite trust that your uneducated instincts are right and the "expert" is wrong.
I'm not sure that would have worked. When I was a psychology major back in the mid-1970's, Money was considered an expert authority, almost god-like in his field. I doubt that no more than a small handful of people would have been able to fully investigate him. Thank goodness that couldn't happen as easily today, since we have the Internet to give a voice to people who would otherwise not be heard.
I'm not "judging" David. Obviously he was victimized by an egomaniacal pseudo-expert. But the medical/statistical evidence suggests that he would likely have been a very troubled young man, even if the surgical accident and subsequent sex reassignment had never happened. The effects of those horrors were probably magnified by the fact that they happened to a boy who was psychologically fragile to begin with, in a family that included a schizophrenic sibling.
Fact is, there were quite a lot of infant sex reassignments in that era, mostly due to genitalia that were abnormal at birth, but some due to circumcision or other post-birth accidents. And somehow, we aren't hearing reports about large numbers of these kids growing up and committing suicide. David apparently had the double-whammy of being treated by a crazy doctor and being destined for psychological problems even before that. Children who had sex reassignments without these factors have apparently done better, for the most part.
Fortunately, plastic surgery techniques have advanced to the point where doctors now have little trouble normalizing abnormal or damaged genitalia, and the era of infant/child surgical sex reassignment to a sex different from the patient's chromosomal sex is over.
He may have been viewed as god-like in 1970s academic psychology circles, but I seriously doubt that the average pediatrician took that view of him. The Internet does help a lot, though. Money would have been exposed as a fraud much more quickly in the Internet era. And David's parents would have been hanging out on some Yahoo group for parents of intersex children, getting a whole lot of different, and more reality-based perspectives on their son's situation.
Holy Cr@p!!!
This man and Johns Hopkins cannot be sued for malpractice? Or assault, for having the children act sexually upon each other?
I doubt that the boy could be "reprogrammed" shortly after birth, he had already stewed in testosterone in the womb. But he was nearly two when he was castrated. God rest these two poor souls and have mercy on them.
MRs VS
He was also a damned quack....as were many in the psychology field at that time.
I'm not saying all psychologists were quacks but, it is interesting to note how homosexuality became 'normal'. Advocate psychologists, many with a personal agenda, picked those meetings of the APA (American Phychological Association) where the viewpoint was presented that homosexuality was abnormal until it became the path of least resistance to accept it as normal. This was before the age of political correctness, but was in essence its beginning.
