The freak show begins early.
Is this a joke or for real?
When you look out over the crowd at the Dem convention, Jerry will be the normal-looking one.
Springer is the David Duke of the left.
We can only begin to imagine what the ice cream duo from Vermont will name this dreamsicle.
Come along now, my dear. The men in the white coats have come for you.
Jerry and his delegation arrive at the Dumbocrat convention.
Email that I sent to Dan Trevas:
Mr. Trevas,
I would like you to explain to me how you think that it is appropriate to
name Jerry Springer as a delegate in Ohio. Being an Ohio citizen, I am
disgusted with this decision. In case you are unaware or you have not seen
the program, Jerry Springer is the host of a show that should be deemed at
least indecent if not obscene. This program has been on television since
1991. I have been unfortunate enough to see it from time to time throughout
the past years in complete disgust. During the last six months, I have been
working out at a gym that has televisions on for the members. On two of the
televisions is the Jerry Springer Show. His show started out being just
another talk show. Since that wasn't working, he added filth and staged
fights to grow the viewer base. Little by little, more filth and indecent
actions were added. In 2002, Jerry Springer considered running for a US
Senate seat in Ohio. He was told that he would either have to run for the
Senate or keep his show. He chose to keep his show. Since that time, he has added a
segment at the end of each show during which time members of the audience
can flash for beads. The following is a list of things that I have seen:
1) Women flashing breasts
2) Women flashing rears
3) Men flashing penises
4) Men flashing rears
5) Men grabbing the flashing women
6) Men kissing men
7) Women kissing women
8) Daily fights
9) A large group of the audience getting naked and grinding each other on
stage
Most of the body parts are blurred out, but that does not help to hide the
intentions and actions of the members of the audience. Now in the latest
edition to his show, there is a new dancer daily who is twirling around a
striptease pole barely dressed for the entire show. What I really like is
the message that is sent. Solve your problems through your fists and your
lack of restraint or by arguing with obsceneties. Then flash some skin and
get noticed. Instead of intelligent debate on some possibly good topics, a
guest yells, a member of the audience yells back, and a staged fight occurs.
Is this the image that you want to represent the Democrats of Ohio? How can
you separate his political career from his talk show career?
Thank you for your time,
David Dranschak
His Response:
David, I have never watched an entire episode of the show, but have seen
parts of it and understand exactly what you are talking about.
Springer applied to be an at-large delegate and was selected by the
Authorized Representatives of the John Edwards campaign in conjunction with
the Ohio Democratic Party to be a delegate.
I don't know if one can separate their television career from their
political career, but in the past year, Springer has been invited to be the
guest speaker at more than 50 local Democratic functions including many
county party dinners and invited to speak and help with voter registration
at several Ohio universities. I believe many leading Ohio Democrats who have
heard him speak at these events and invited him to speak believe one can
separate the two sides.
The Ohio Democratic Party is not in support of the television show - now
owned by NBC-Universal and distributed by USA Networks, nor has it endorsed
Springer for any political office.
Hope this helps,
Dan Trevas
