Could be worse, I suppose. Lynddie Englund could be starring in the infield show...:-)

Nah.
I think she'd feel more at home working in one of the innumerable S&M 'dungeons' located on the Lower East Side.

The word is that Smarty DID NOT get a fast workout yesterday. Not even a brisk run, just a gallop. Some controversy about this. I think it might just be a smart move, considering his heavy schedule the past couple of months.

I can't imagine a better way to spend the semester! Who attends college to go to classes anyway?
P.S. When did Nick Zito give up the Hell's Angels for horse racing? Odd choice, if you ask me.

I've got one of the Secretariat tickets that was never cashed! What a day that was!!!!! I can still see that horse flying (that's the only word for it) down the track.

I would have given anything to see that horse run! However, he ran when my children were small and there was no money to go to the races.

I was pregnant..........not sure what possessed us to make the trip to Belmont but I am so glad we did! It's the only time we have ever been to a racetrack in over 30 yrs. of marriage!

Well, I guess what they're doing is just good old rambunctious fun.
But I kind of have a problem when you decide to mix incredibly fast thoroughbreds with vast quantities of alcohol.

The drunk people aren't racin'. They don't even care that there is a race.... at least the funnelator chick won't.

I am there! Nice tie-in with Philadelphia and Smarty .
To: HairOfTheDog
Yeah, well I don't think the guys surrounding the "funnelator chick" are exactly fans of equestrian sporting events either.
Perhaps they came there for ulterior motives? Hmmm...

I gotta feel a little bad for the folks who have old money. The young take the class right out of everything these days. ;~D

The young take the class out of everything because classless adults have spent the last 30 years declasssing all aspects of American culture.
We need to make an effort to regain the culture. It won't be easy, but I think it can be done.
To: Types_with_Fist
Did you just see that rerun of Imperialism's run in the Derby? That is a GREAT horse!
To: Miss Marple
Yes. Saw that. Great speed down the stretch. Bad position in the Derby. If he could have been in a better position he might have placed second or even won it.

That's what young folks are supposed to do though.
If you can't act like an imbecilic stumble-bum when you're a teenager, when can you?
