Check this out folks...

Postulate: I wonder if Harris Corp has ever heard of Nick Berg [professionally]

Harris Corp is the Florida based company that won the contract to handle the Iraqi Media rebuild. If indeed young Mr Berg had a piece of that action as his emails to his parents claim he did...the dates of the emails are pretty consistent with the award date of the contract...kind of.

My Question is this: What does Harris Corp have to say...more importantly what does Youseff (Joe) Sleimen have to say? 'Joe' is the Lebanese born front man for Harris Corp in Iraq...has 'Joe' ever met Nick?

Go here and read this article all about Harris Corp and Youseff (Joe) Sleimen. This is a fresh find.

This is a very interesting read into the gritty business of contracting in Iraq...

Here's a dot that doesn't fit, for me:

On April 5, Michael Berg filed a lawsuit alleging that his son was being held illegally in Iraq. Either Iraqi police or coalition authorities released Nicholas Berg the following day.

If he filed the suit on April 5 at 9:00 AM (for example), that's 5:00 PM Baghdad time. If they released him AS A RESULT OF THE LAWSUIT, there had to be a pretty clear channel between the court in Philly and whoever was holding him in Baghdad to get it done in 31 hours (end of the "next day".

One-man communications firm?

I think the tower thing is a Nick's cover. When I hear "Communications Expert", I imagine someone who likes to pass messages, interconnecting people. Perhaps it was something he was good at, passing messages.

His father's politics are that of the obnoxious far left. Although it is often true that a son won't have the same political leanings as the father, maybe he at least inherited the same extremist streak, like a Uni-bomber, Oswald or McVeigh (McVeigh had Arab connections). Father/son agree that the status quo had to end, and were willing to do anything to achieve it.

After meeting Moussaoui, who he thought was a swell guy, the "Communications Expert" helps Moussaoui and the rest of his 9/11 buddies complete their goal (secure email comm and other methods), and realizes these methods just aren't secure enough anymore. He needs to pass a message from US cells to al-Qaida kingpin al-Zarqawi and decides to deliver it personally.

Now Nick has never met face to face with a real hardcore terrorist like al-Zarqawi, who is very unlike the punk Moussaoui, and got more than he bargained for when al-Zarqawi realized Nick was a Jew.

Berg, who was Jewish, had in his possession texts that were considered ''anti-Semitic'' in tone.

As I have said from the beginning...to understand the son, watch the father. This story was dirty from the get go. The father also didn't waste a second of grief before attacking the Administration for his son's murder. Failed the smell test right there (add the "coincidental" email to complete the picture).

Michael Berg is an enemy of America. He is also JINO who hates Jews, supports the PLO and wants Israel to be destroyed. It was truly horrible that his son died this way (and unfortunate that it was not his wretched father instead), but if Nick was truly pro-insurgents, then the truth MUST come out. The Japanese "hostages" were ultra-left scum, and their government rightly attacked them instead of having false sympathies. Let's hear the truth.

But according to his dad, Berg refused, believing that flying out of Baghdad airport was too dangerous and instead he wanted to try driving to Kuwait

Too dangerous? It was good enough for Bush and Rummy, but not for this guy? Again, this story fails the smell test. what was he up to when he fell into the hands of his father's buddies???

Here's one more coincidence for y'all.

berg ap

zach

Lots of guys shave their noggins, but one look at these two, and I'd bet that they trained in the same fighting system.  Most likely good club fighters -- they're not boxers -- too much body fat, but that small amount of extra weight  helps on the ground.

There is no such thing as coincidence.

Man, this is just too strange.

Since nobody watches network evening news anymore, I must reveal that Nick Berg's "strange journey" led the broadcast Thursday night on the CBS Evening News. The most telling part of the rather lengthy and well-done piece was a comment an FBI agent made to Nick after he had been in an Iraqi jail for several days. Something like, "Look, everyone in this jail knows your're Jewish. You better leave the country. You're in danger." The State Dept even offered him a ride back to the U.S.

The danger was made even more clear to me when I watched my local TV news as an area businessman, who fled Iraq two weeks ago, was asked why he left the place in such haste. Winton Blount III (yes, Blount Construction, with major contracts over there - he wasn't a freelancer) replied that there was a ten thousand dollar bounty on the capture of any American.

Poor Nick Berg reminds me of that young Rockefeller (eaten by cannibals in the South Pacific) or Howard Dean's idealistic brother (executed by Khmer Rouge on his rafting adventure). Sad story.

e) Because he belongs to a far-left peace group and was known to authorities, Nicholas Berg's father likely raised a red flag and was a possible reason that the FBI visited the family in suburban Philadelphia at least three times during the 13 days that Berg was detained.

That's the only part I don't accept or agree with. The more likely reason for the FBI visiting his family's home in West Chester is the fact that agents had met with him while he was in Iraqi custody in Mosul three times, and were probably as puzzled as to what he was up to as we are. They were probably asking the father to help fill in the blanks, and probably also just "checking in" with the family since their son was being detained in a war-torn foreign country, although I doubt Michael Berg would give them credit for that level of humanity. His (the father's) membership/support with International ANSWER probably wouldn't be enough on its own to spark a visit.

But, with the new detail coming out about his former uncle who is an Iraqi, and the possiblity that he purchased a computer for Moussaoui, this is getting curiouser and curiouser.

Berg Decapitation Video: more questions

You raise some interesting points. There are a number of "dots" that don't connect regarding the story of Nick Berg and what he was doing in Iraq.

I hadn't planned on trying to look at the video of this murder. I'm not a "fainter" or anything, but I've no interest in looking at that sort of horror out of idle curiousity. But I had read a few comments here and there about things in the video that didn't add up. For example, an Arabic translator at some US university commented that the man the CIA ID's tentatively as Al-Zarqawi didn't have the sort of dialectical accent that a Jordanian would have. Someone else mentioned that there was too little blood, saying that the man shown having his head cut off with a butcher knife was either already dead or it wasa dummy or something.

My own observation: although through long speech by the terrorist, it's clearly a living man kneeling at the feet of the line of masked men, it's pretty clear to me that whatever took place duruing the camera-jerking climax of the beheading wasn't the murder of a man. I'd have to agree that if it was a real beheading we saw, it was the beheading of someone already dead.

Anyone who's lived on a farm [as opposed to the corridors of Washington or NY offices] knows what kind of muscle spasms take place when you kill a living creature with a blade to the neck. That, and the lack of arterial blood that would be pumping out by the still-beating heart, tell me that the video is staged, at least in part.

I have no real doubt that Mr. Berg is dead, and that terrorists killed him. But I am certain that we didn't see it happening in this video.

I have been in the radio communications business for over 30 years.
I have three communications sites and towers.
I am sure most anyone in this business, like myself, is scratching his head over this Berg story.

The whole story is so full of holes that it makes zero sense.

Was Berg a radio man or a tower man?
Where is his staff of tower workers?
Where did he get his supplies?
What type of tower did he erect?
What WAS his expertise?
Where was his base of operation and all of his equipment?

My guess is that Berg was some delusional nutcase who, at best, could have hitched a deal with one of the big contractors, but even then, he would not likely be anymore
then a technical worker.
I have many friends that over the past 25 years have been to the middle east with companies like G.E (now Erikson), Harris, and Motorola.
Even in a non war zone, this work is done by BIG companies with BIG contracts, and many people.

Of course, we get all our information from the media, and we know that's worth about as much as spit.

Nicholas was definitely being detained by the coalition for any of the following suspicions:

How about:

d) Wandering around Iraq alone. NO American in their right mind would do that. It's like walking around with a big "KILL ME" sign. Every American over there knows that to wander around alone is to invite death or kidnapping.

I figured all of this out on day one. I told my family about everything I was thinking. However, does that make it ok for the mongrel satanists (and no, I'm not referring to our demoncraps in this country) to do what they did and get a free pass on it? It doesn't matter WHO detained him and when as the demoncraps are trying to divert to, but then again, it doesn't make it ok and give the satanists that did this a free pass. I'm sorry, I want nukes dropped on the middle east, on ALL of them! Kill 'em all, let God sort 'em out... Then again, I believe the same for the satan spawn demoncrap in this country, but are we taking it to the streets and carrying it out? I rest my case!!!
