I am sick and tired of these "gotcha" stories, even if this one did happen on Clinton's watch. Whoope-dee-doo. We know in hindsight that all the stories having to do with airplanes and buildings were true. All the stories about putting poison in the drinking water were BS. So were all the stories about blowing up bridges during rush hour. That's the best part about hindsight: it's always right.

The problem today, and one that politicians and the tin foil hat group ignore, is not gathering intel. If you don't hamstring yourself you can find out most anything. The real problem is that there is so much of it, it becomes ALMOST impossible to sort out the wheat from the chaff. I would love to gather the group that thinks 9/11 could have been prevented, give them a years worth of info and see what they could tell us about the future.

It's not just the Gorelick wall.

There's an innate problem within the FBI about sharing information, even within their own organization. They are so eager, - no, desperate, to be the awardee for having provided the significant piece of information, that they don't share information with others in their own division, much less with organizations such as the CIA or NSA.

It is so bad that I have begun to believe that the only way to get the FBI to share information is to disband them all - disperse them to the four winds, and start over. The old-boy network is so strong, it keeps anyone from exercising good judgment.

It's taken years for several companies to get the information they need in order to design a computer system that does what it needs to do because they've kept information from the system designers, and thus several iterations of computer systems have been designed and built, that don't do what they need to do - and that's not the fault of the system architects.

It is a problem that most Americans are totally unaware of but anyone who has had even minimal contact with the FBI has learned, the hard way.

Sorry your post got deleted. I'm not really big on conspiracy theories, except for entertainment value, but I can tell you that I never heard a single jet over Manhattan until well after the towers had been hit. My best guess is that Uncle Sam got caught with his pants down.
