The beheadding of Mr. Berg may be viewed at the following link. A long speech in Arabic, they then behead him while screaming "God is great", and finally hold up his severed head for display. So disgusting. To equate this in any way to God's will is an abomination.

No, I'm not kidding. If Adolf Hitler had declared Nazism to be a "religion" and began building "Nazi Temples" across America, broadcasting the "Nazi call to prayer" (HEIL HITLER!! HEIL HITLER!!) over loudspeakers, would you have defended it as "religious speech?
What is the difference between "Allahu Akbar" and "Heil Hitler," in practical reality?
Most Germans were not gassing Jews when they casually said "Heil Hitler" to one another. And most Muslims are cutting off heads when they scream "Allah Akbar."
But every Muslim, when slicing necks or blowing up buses full of children, screams "ALLAHU AKBAR!"
ALLAHU AKBAR! = HEIL HITLER!

Aren't there other, more efficient (though apparently less fun for the soldiers int he pictures) methods of interrogation besides sexual degredation?

=== How? Let's see this...
A nation that spends a millions of dollars on drones monitored 'round the clock in Alexandria which capture every detail of the Iraqi landscape can't outfit their POW camps with the same video monitors one finds in practically every bank, convenience store, ATM, and retail outlet in the US and damn near every public street of every major city in England?
A simple and relatively cheap step like this would not only have prevented the abuses in the first place but put paid to any rumors that we're not still a moral people and prosecuting the West's war against Islam with all due respect for life and attention to the basics of humane treatment of prisoners regardless whether all are entitled to the specific protections of Geneva or not.

You know what Askel?
You can try to sound as learned and intellectual as you like, but you always manage to come across as a pompous, bloviating no-body.
That entire post made absolutely ZERO sense as it relates to the subject of this thread.
And there you go with the Geneva Convention crap again.

Next? There will be no more questioning of the U.S. military prosecution of the war by the media or those in congress. Those who do so will be looked at closely by the new department of un-american activities reporting to the department of homeland security. This department will use utmost restraint, but will not hesitate to bring charges of treason against those who seek to harm our war effort.

Perhaps there are. But sexual degradation would certainly be effective against people mired in Islamic custom and law. Their sense of modesty is overwhelming, after all, so it's easy to understand why it would be an effective means of breaking their will and getting them to talk.
It may not be appealing or moral, of course, but I'm sure it beats air conditioned prison cells and the Allah Weekly.

=== Don't you think if pictures of aborted babies were shown in graphic detail, folks might wake up & be inflamed enough to put an end to it????---
As a matter of fact, I don't.
I believe this information and those images should be used extremely sparingly lest we risk gross desensitization.
I guess I also find it a somewhat reprehensible disrespect for the dead ... particularly where folks carry around dead fetuses in jars or shove pix in people's faces in lieu of engaging them with more persuasive arguments.
I've had long talks with a good friend and faithful abortion protestor friend of mine whose gentle and patient dialogue with abortuary workers has impressed me over the years. Both he and I find that images of infants are far more persuasive than images of carcasses where the last-minute plea-by-picture is concerned.
In Russia, home of some of the greatest agit-prop artists of all time, it occurred to me that this was definitely the case. In the Metro, one finds the occasional government-sponsored anti-abortino poster. It's not a bloody dead little body or trashcan of nearly full-term fetuses. It's a smiling child, just old enough to sit up, whose image has been shattered into pieces. Powerful.

If you watch it, your heart will be colder afterward. That's exactly why we should watch it (though I haven't been able to bring myself to watch it yet! . . . I will eventually) and keep it on our hard disks.
You know 'rats are going to try to make it disappear, just like they did the videos of people jumping from the WTC. Don't want the rabble to get worked up, y'know?
Every time the bastards show a picture of "torture" at Abu Ghraib prison, Fox News should air frames from the video of Berg's beheading and one of us should post a link to it so that it NEVER goes away and 'rats can't deprive Americans of their right to remember, and their right to know, and their right to be outraged.

Sorry - but if he did that I would question his decency. Out of respect for the family of this individual.... What if it helped save more servicemen and women from dying because we stopped playing nice and focused on winning this war?

Discussion gets us nowhere. Force, on the other hand, does.
Force: To compel through pressure or necessity.

And how this is different from showing the rest of our Americans killed in Iraq and Afghanistan? Sorry, it's just as wrong as the Koppel stunt.
