Not in their back yard? (CA asks couple to get rid of installations on their slice of beach.)

Leave it to the California Communist Coastal Commission to screw up an otherwise idyllic situation.

If memory serves, the CCC was also the party responsible for nixing an anti-illegal-immigrant fence near the Mexican border that was near the coastline.

And they wonder why we think they have an agenda?

CCC also involved in shakedown and violent extortion of the Ritz in Laguna Beach. They either had to pay or were threatened with death .... case overshadowed when principle defendant, a State Senator from Van Nuys pled out on unrelated charges and went to prison...

The Ca Coastal Commission has got to be reformed quick.
I watch for our new Gov to do some housecleaning with
future appointments. The tree huggers have won all
battles with regard to beach issues while property owners
are strong armed by the bullys. I've seen this particular
property and know it galls the weenies that they can't
just take the property without the bother of a Commission,
let alone a judge.
The construction of my house was delayed an additional year
because of the C. Commission being influenced by neighbor loosing some view. One year's delay was mighty expensive!

I certainly do not intend, or desire, to violate any rules. Thanks for the heads-up.

However; I only posted an excerpt from the article, and am not clear on what violation I committed.

Please provide more complete explanation.

I feel for you!

I have an acre of waterfront up in Wa. and the rules and restrictions are unbelievable. We hope to build there come retirement, but the way things are going thats questionable.

As it stands right now we are not allowed to do ANYTHING within 100 ft of the high tide line. This while we have neighbors with houses within 25ft of the water.

Ambigious and vague rules with a single person in the county with the authority to interpet them seems to be the biggest problem. That person is a greener deluxe of course, and to whom ANY develpoment is abhorent.

I suppose many of the points of contention could be fought legally, but that would still have the desired effect of shutting down any building as I can't afford to build and take on city hall.

The really sad part of the whole deal is that where I would like to build (approx 35' back from the water) virtually no excavation or logging/clearing needs to be done. Due to the 100ft setback, in order to build, I'll have to not only do massive excavation on a hillside but cut down about 25 very large trees. Go figure!!!
