I'm not advocating any of these specific approaches, particularly if they are illegal. I'm merely predicting that when the problem gets bad enough, such weapons will be brought to bear in an ad hoc manner.

Given that 1)spammers annoy millions of people, and that 2)a sample containing millions of people will include a few who are below minus-four-sigma on the anger-management curve, I'm honestly surprised that we haven't (yet?) heard of a spammer being tracked down and beaten to death.
