I'll say this again here for effect...
I believe that the President's apology is intended to say that He, as Commander-in-Chief is ultimately responsible for the actions of the men under his command... unlike his predecessor... thus absolving blame from Rummy. But, neither of these men is guilty of anything accept in the eyes of the Left for perhaps upholding the defense and dignity of this great nation in the face of butchers, liers, heathens, and otherwise tiny little men.
But, do let them know your thoughts in this regard. I assure you, the Left is desperate and we are now facing another onslaught of their lies, rhetoric and agitprop. The partisan media has as much to lose in the upcoming election as do the Democrats and if/when The President prevails in his election effort, the network Corporates will have no choice but to acknowledge the 'turning' and clean house across the face of the biased partisan media from the LA Times to CNN and on through the alphabet. Do not believe for a second that they do not know it, and will say or do anyting to prevent that from happening. And certainly do not look for anything but increased savagery on their part and their allies at Al Jazeera, and in their friends the butchers on killing streets of Iraq.
Let the President and all of the Republican leaders know your thoughts on this issue, and DO NOT leave it to the likes of Chris Matthews (the tiniest man of all) to convey.

You have been corrected and still keep saying he apologozied TO the king. He did. You've now be recorrected. I posted the quote.

You remember Hudson in "Aliens"?
Your quote just made me remember something funny about that movie. Back when I was in the Army and was doing the Operation Desert Storm thing (oh how I wish we were allowed to finish the job back then) my buddies and I were constantly doing Hudson impressions to lighten things up. I think Hudson almost became the patron saint of our squad.
Example:
Squad Leader: We're expecting to encounter some Republican Guard elements at our next position.
grunt #1: Republican Guard? Game over, man, game over!
Squad leader: From what we've seen, it should be no problem. My six-year-old daughter could take these guys with one arm tied behind her back."
grunt #2: Well, WHY DON'T WE PUT HER IN CHARGE!
Of course, the NCOs didn't always think it was funny.

bttt means bump to the top
the latest messge you post or that gets posted to you shows up at the top of your MY Comments section. Many times folks will use that to signify their placemarker to go back and read later.
Sometimes bumping a thread means you are just trying to keep it going, generating interest.
And if you bump somebody's post in particular it signifies agreement with what that poster said.
Did I leave anything out, folks?

Telling it like it is, from your perspective, is always negative.
I repeat: direct me to a thread you have started portraying the president in a positive light. Or at least direct me to a post which is unconditionally supportive.
To: petercooper
Its over. Bush is lost. We must ready ourselves for President Kerry. ( a warmed over Clinton without the charm ). This will not help the war effort.

Howlin, what's going on?
Like what's happening in your head?
I think if I was in the same room with you, you'd want to challenge me to an arm wrestling match. What gives??

His actions over the last two days makes it really look like he is switching into klinton's infamous "legacy building mode". Could you be more specific with that charge? What has he done that is "legacy building"?

"I told him ["him" being King Abdullah] I was sorry for the humiliation suffered by the Iraqi prisoners and the humiliation suffered by their families,"
Yes, it was *to* King Abdullah.
I don't think it was necessary, but I agree with you:
God bless the President!

He did it to save lives! He sucked it up being the leader he is and took it in the pride for you and me!
He did in an effort to reduce the Islam-o- fascists hold on anti Americanism.
He did to save US Troops.
He knows he must continue the War on Terror even at HIS OWN expense!
He sacrificed in the WOT for me and my family.
Excellent! Welcome to Free Republic.

Let's see what happens. To be honest, his testimony is coming too soon. I think a backlash would have soon begun to build as the daily attacks from the media against the US military continued day after day. You won't see too many people like Kyl getting face time from the media.

Howlin has a lot more street cred than you do.Hmmm. 'Street cred' on political discussion threads.
Maybe we should call it thread cred.

Marple, cool it.
I don't have fangs. I'm just putting my 2 cents out there. It's life. People can agree and disagree. It's America and it's great. But I shouldn't be subjected to a witch test if I deviate from your script.

I LIKE your new tag line! Me? I'm still trying to drum up a maybe-sometime-in-the-future-event that I simply MUST apologize for!!!

Imagin: Its 1943. We are still fighting in the Pacific, we have yet to invade France and FDR goes on the radio to apologize for the internment of Japanese-Americans, lack of Black civil rights, and not letting woment serve in the front line army units. This just gives comfort to out enemies.

The only thing wrong with some of the posters on this thread is that they are sick and tired of seeing you MISCHARACTERIZE what Bush said and did. You have been corrected and still keep saying he apologozied TO the king. What on earth are you talking about? Who else was he talking to? Obviously he wasn't apologizing to King Abdullah for any humiliation that US troops inflicted on King Abdullah-----he was apologizing for what was done to Iraqi prisoners. But how you can indignantly accuse me of mischaracterizing anything is just bizarre.
