"and I wonder who's car it really is."

What a stupid statement (sarc), we all know that the cars belong to the state! Since they require us to register them and pay a fee (tax) to use them, we have allowed them to take psuedo ownership!

Ha! They ought to be lucky they don't get life without parole after three tickets!/sarcasm off;)

That's probable in California, but I will bet it won't be long before they seize the vehicles of repeat offenders and auction it off, with that infamous cry of,"its for the children".

This Bill is just another way to steal money and or personal property from the citizens without the use a gun.

That being said, I need a cigarette.

"The bill, passed by the Assembly Appropriations Committee and now on its way to the full Assembly, would lead to fines up to $96."

So taking resources away from a family through fines which would impact junior's quality of life and giving police officers another "crime" to enforce thus distracting them from pursuing real criminals who threaten the safety and security of our families is first and foremost on the minds of these yahoos?

We really need a new law -- a law to protect our children and our families from the "strangers" in the Assembly.

How can people be so ignorant. Who's child is it, well it is you who gave birth to that child but that doesn't mean that you have the right to harm that child. Smoking kills people and if you are lucky enough not to die you have terrible problems with your breathing. Why does anyone have the right to take a child and surround them with something like cigarette smoke. What about that child's rights -or wait are these the same children that have more rights when they are in the womb. Maybe so, why is it that when a child is in a mother's uterus you aren't allow to harm it even if you don't plan on keeping it but as soon as it is born - poof there goes that babies right to live a healthy life. We have enough health risks in our life, especially those who live in big cities so why on earth would you be so selfish as to want to bring more harm into this helpless little person's life. So yes the child belongs to you, but it is the community as a whole that is responsible for looking after the health of that child. I am Canadian and so I pay for the health care needs of all Canadians, why should I have to pay for someone that purposely puts themselves into a position where poor health is the only outcome - I shouldn't. So give you child a fighting chance agianst all the health risks that already exsit and wait until they are old enough to decide whether they want to be around smoking people or not. Without their permission it is a form of child abuse, only slower and more deadly!
