And it wouldn't be Military Monday without thanking our wonderful, brave military personnel from all branches of our service for all they do to keep us free.God bless and keep you all.

Amen lakeside. Re: your post a few days back...can't believe you lurked all those years (although I admit I rarely posted until I found the finest. Guess I was a daily lurker too although I registered in 98)

An absolutely GREAT picture, Dave.

May I use it for future threads? It's a keeper ... and a reminder which will always inspire.

LOL!
For some reason, I now have an image of this nice little short cartoon animation guy sitting there speaking normally, getting asked how he really feels, and then going off in gutteral demonic gargling voice while suddenly swelling in height and ranting about devouring the other guy's eyes and other horrible tortures before finally calming down and returning to normal size, pushing his glasses up his nose, and then asking the devastated demolished room, "Why are you all looking at me like that?"

(Something like the Captain Stern section in the 1970's animated movie Heavy Metal.)

They wanna teach the kids about aids, abortion, two dads and two moms, but they don't want to protect them from the terrorists who seek to murder them.

Did you catch the "joke agenda" for the DNC convention that they are all in a tither about???? The irony is that it really is so on target.... I still remember watching the opening of the DNC convention in California when BoyScouts came out and the delegates actually booed...turned their backs on these kids...Wish I had a video clip of this....

Oh my...I've been pretty positive and upbeat until now...feeling a little blood boil!!!

"Corporal Dunham is everybody's hero," Bell added. "He sacrificed his life so his Marines could continue the mission."

Oh my...thank you for posting this beautiful tribute to one of our fallen heros. God bless their souls and please protect those still deployed.

And, always, thanks for your contributions here Dubya.

Ha! It sounds like we live mirrored lives! No french doors but lg. sliding glass doors looking down the hill to the lake and up river. Down the slope we are terracing flower beds and walkways(an ongoing project--doing it ourselves--are we stupid or what?)

We've not hung a hammock yet but I've got a canopied swing on the back deck where I can drink my morning coffee and watch the sun come up over the lake. We also have Canada geese, Mallard ducks, and egrets. We even have a large grey crane that thinks our dock is home. Haven't named him yet!

Also, our mothers sound quite similar.Mine doesn't live in my house(yet) but calls me on the phone often and tells me what I should do,say act, etc. And I'm no spring chicken either. It shows they love us no matter how old we get.

I,too, have had years of turmoil and testing and yes this is truly a time of "be still and know that I am God." I'm still being sorely tested but the setting sure helps. How can you stay "down" when there is so much beauty to be seen and enjoyed?

Got any good names for a large obnoxious crane?
