We were in Orlando two or three years ago on vacation; all the while we were making the myriad arrangements, no one bothered to tell us that we were booking our family vacation during the repugnant gay days. We had no intention of going to Disney anyway, because of their stance, but I assure you Universal Studios was full of it too, even though they weren't "officially" participating like Disney. Our visit to The Holy Land Experience was a retreat in more ways than one.

Since the Terri Schiavo issues have arisen, I have adopted a 'don't go near Flordia' posture for me and everyone in my family. It's not safe to go into a state that is as possessed of socialist societal engineers as Florida is. And I haven't seen Jeb Bush do anything more than posture for appearances on her behalf. If he actually got involved in try ing to save Terri from the heinous crap she's being subjected to, well, I might change my opinion of Jeb, but I still wouldn't go into the state given the pernicious corrosion of liberal is there.

Look at how they're wording it now: (from their website)

Gay Day 2004

GDDW, LLC in conjunction with other sponsors would like to welcome you to the 2nd annual Gay Day on Saturday May 22nd, 2004 from 9am until 8pm at a major theme park in Pigeon Forge, TN.. Last year we had over 1,300 participants in the park most wearing red shirts. It was a fun day for all.

This is the 2nd year of the event which started the same way Gay Day at Disney world began over twelve years ago. Where many friends gathered at the park for the first year. We hope that everyone will come out for this event & hope it continues to grow as Gay Day at Disney has over the years.

The color for this year is Red! Taking after Gay Day at Disney and other successful Gay Day events at other parks across the nation. We ask that everyone turn out in the brightest red shirt that they have, our hope is to flood the park with a sea of red shirts.

I wonder how welcome these degenerates would next year if not a single family or non-homosexual customer showed up on May 22. Somehow I don't think 1300 customers will pay the overhead for a single day at Dollywood Park. Even Dolly might reconsider her service to the homosexual 'community'.

On a side note: how would you like the job of cleaning the bathrooms the evening of this homo-happenstance? There ain't enough Clorox in Tennessee to wade in there!

"Even Dolly might reconsider her service to the homosexual 'community'."

Why do you think Dolly is condoning this? Do you see the park advertising come one, come all, if you are Gay, on this particular day? How ridiculous.

Legally, you can't just stop people arbitrarily from coming into a public amusement park, unless they are disturbing the peace. Now, if these turkeys come in and start behaving lewdly, the security can toss them out unceremoniously, but until that happens, their hands are tied.

What do you propose they do, stop anyone wearing red from entering? What if some poor schmuck, with his family, tries to come in and he's wearing a red shirt?

So you are going to "punish" Dollywood, for something that is beyond their control.

Makes sense to me.

Not a very good try at posting a strawman. I haven't advocated stopping anyone from entering Dollywood. You can bet that a sudden closing of the park on the homo-designated day could be in order for next year, should all non-homosexual business stay away on this homo-happenstance day for 2004. [BTW, 'their hands are tied' is the illigitimate brother of PC crap. Freepers don't swallow such inane drivel easily so you might want to try and repackage that smarm if you're gonna spit it out on our floors.]

Dollywood is really a neat place. I would imagine that
there will be more monitoring of the facilities there to
prevent any of the more prurient elements of that group
from behaving in such a way as to dishonor the wholesome
atmosphere of the place during that time. The place is
pretty much (or so it seemed when we were there) run by
retired people with friendly, good attitudes. Dolly herself
is not a person who criticizes anyone publicly. She seems
to really love everyone in spite of possibly disagreeing
with them. Some of her pronouncements have sometimes seemed
overly tolerant to me, but then I guess I'm not as nice a
person as Dolly seems to be. She's not going to turn down
business, or break the law by banning anyone, but she is
also not likely to allow behavior at her park which would
cause the majority of other folks to quit attending the
park or break the laws of Tennessee.

Your naivete is refreshing, but the reality is, Disney World has numerous incidents of 'improprieties' occurring during their 'homo days'. As told to me by someone who once worked there during such a 'special day': "The park can't afford to have it in the news the facts that degenerates were caught on many occasions behaving grossly. It would be bad for business when it's not a gay day. There were even fights we had to break up, between queers and queers, and between queers and fathers and mothers of children witnessing the sick stuff." The same will happen at Dollywood because degenerates cannot refrain from being degenerates (without professional help). The guards and custodial people will be commanded to keep it hushed up for fear of harming their usual customer support. That is the reality of how these degenerates use the mantra of 'their hands are tied', to strong-arm the businesses who do not want them there.

A week SPECIFICALLY selected to encouter children. Its the first week when schools let out. Many families USED to take their children during those days.

It is also why they are trying to demolish fathers day at disney with a homosexuals with children on that day. The homosexuals are attacking fatherhood.

What would help is publicising cases where new homosexuals outed during divorce loose custody of children. In fact if anyone has to deal with a custody case and can catch their ex with the children at such an event, it would be good for their case.

Involving children in any aspect of such a sexually explicit lifestyle should AUTOMATICALLY be considered child abuse. In Florida child abuse is investigated by the Department of Children and Families.

I live in East Tennessee.

I grew up there. Family still there, East Tennessee. I hate their forcing this garbage on society and demanding my acceptance, they are never going to get it. Dollywood or any other amusment park designed for kids are not the places for this garbage their only reason for going is designed to get a reaction. I think we should speak up and give it to them no different from any other political situation or loose the battle. But do I hate them personally...no. I think they are sick. I was just answering the article as to why they are getting such a strong reaction in Tennessee. Tennessee is not Vermont and there is a reason why.
