That's an approximation of what was done to servicemen during WW2. There were no antibiotics.

I thought that penicillin came into common use just before WWII, but I could be mistaken. I definitely have heard WWII old timers talking about "pro kits" and "short arm inspections", so the two treatments probably coexisted for a while.

You're right, in the sense that Fleming discovered the antibiotic properties of penicillin about 1940.

However, it was a rare commodity, and I don't believe it was used for cases of VD in the early '40's. The stories some of the guys would tell about treatment for gonorrhea would curl your hair.

I came down with a severe case of pneumonia in 1948 while in engineering school, and penicillin was commonly available by then. I owe my restoration to health then to penicillin every 4 hours by injection for about two weeks.

Notice that 80% of gonorrhea cases are among homosexuals, roughly 2% of the population. Tells you something, doesn't it?

Give them 1 gram of Rocephin/ceftriaxone mixed with normal saline in each butt cheek without Z tracking the shot.

A couple of therapeutic sessions like might modify some of their self destructive behavior
