Leftists Revile Tillman, 'Dumb Jock Killed in Afghanistan'
NewsMax ^ | Tuesday April 27, 2004 | Carl Limbacher

If anyone still doubts the America-hating bent of the far left, this item is for you.

Something that calls itself Independent Media Center, which OpinionJournal.com's James Taranto calls "one of the most virulent Angry Left Web sites around," has hit rock bottom. Its branch in P.C.-crazed Portland, Ore., has a page devoted to the death in combat of Pat Tillman, which it summarizes as "Dumb Jock Killed in Afghanistan."

Among the comments posted by those "tolerant liberals":

• "Tillman chose to go to Afghanistan. He's partially reponsible for the deaths of hundreds, maybe thousands of Afghan civilians. No need to feel sorry for him, other than feeling bad that he was brainwashed into serving as a grunt."

• "it's amazing the kind of attention this insignificant incident is going to cause. well, he was rich, white, and an american. 10,000 (brown) iraqis get killed, and it barely merits a mention in the american news. how utterly f---ing sad."

• "if he 'sacrificed' anything it was his common sense. He had a good American thing going and blew it." Are these the same leftists who ridiculed war hero Bob Dole in favor of draft dodger Bill Clinton but say John Kerry's four-month stint in Vietnam was so great?

Taranto noted that a few posters dared to disagree with the party line. One wrote: "Brave American sacrifices friends, family and fortune in defense of his country. Pigs on IndyMedia can now continue to exercise free speech, sacrifice nothing and spew hate."

Yes, I checked Chicago's Indyemdia the other day and I was disgusted how the INDYMIDIOTS made fun or ridiculized Pat's death. Furthermore, they have been celebrating the "Fallujah Insurgents" as their heros, as well as insulting and demonizing American soldiers. Indymedia is mostly used by Anarchists who are even uglier and more retarded than the Marxists...

Tillman's nailclippings have more patriotism than that of these lowlife weasels.

I think they would be insulted if you implied that they have that much.

The full impact of the loss of Pat Tillman hasn't quite hit me. On 9-11 he did something beside beat his fist on the dash board of his car . He goes to the Army recruiter and said "Take me, All this NFL money and fame is secondary now that my country needs me." Meanwhile I was seeking ice for my sore hand. Tillman took patriotism to a new level..

Also is it wrong to use the words 'liberal', 'duct tape' and 'fire ants' in the same thought?

As an exercise for the readers, use the words "tar," "feathers," and "splintery fence rail," and "leftist" in a complete sentence.

Probably a troll or disrupter. I wonder if that poster met the equivalent of 'the viking kittens' for not fully believing the 'party line?

All of my friends on the left thought he was a hero. This must be the Noam Chomsky wing of the Communist party that doesn't like him.

I think we should ship these people to a "strategic location" in Iraq where they can get first-hand experience with the situation, and congratulate the rest of the Dems for doing something right.

These people claim to be so free. They are free to say this or do that and no one will condemn them, because this is a free country. But they are not for freedom for anybody else. The radical clerics want to be in power over there and set strict rules and any body that breaks those rules will surly suffer for it. And if those clerics could call the shots over they would be the first to go to the camps.

What those subhuman scum are saying isn't unexpected. If I say what I truly think, I'll get banned for sure.

I am certain I read that exact same comment on DU

I REALLY hate to say anything nice about the DUmmies, BUT... I was reading a thread over there on this the other day and most of them actually had good things to say! I was shocked!!

Although, some of them mentioned they wouldn't have felt the same way if he had been in Iraq.

Nasty pukes. Posters like that you want to send on a hiking trip to Pakistan or remote parts of Algeria.

He had a good American thing going and blew it."

Whoever said this is missing the point of post postmodernism and may also expect to live forever.

To hell with what these depraved fools say. Pat Tillman now has a very prominent place on my very short list of personal heroes.
