We did NOT invade Iraq to "free the Iraqi people."

We invaded Iraq in order to:
1. Secure the United States
2. To Remake the Middle East as a Peaceful Region
3. Free the People of Iraq
4. Enforce Sanctions Against WMD
5. Prevent Iraqi Movements Against Neighbors, Kurds and Shiites

If we have to turn the place into glass, we will have succeeded at #1 and #2 completely and 3-4-5 will not matter. And if THEY understood that, they would be a lot easier to deal with.
