Back before I got into recovery and my liberalism went into remission, I fancied myself much smarter than the plain, principled folk I grew up around in North Carolina.
Thankfully I lived to realize just how ignorant I really was.
Anyway, being intelligent (not that I am) is greatly overrated, I can think of many character traits I would rather have.
