He's already discrediting valid facts. Anyway, no one else is looking into these accusations so I don't know what you're worried about. All the news organizations are busy arguing over Creepy Boy's medals.

110 - "You are correct. He had no obligation to join a unit or drill in the Ready Reserves. Of course, he would get no points toward retirement and no pay if he decided not to join a unit, but it was his option to take inactive status in the Ready Reserve."
That is correct, if he could find an open authorized 'slot'. As an officer, It depends on his specialty, and the unit's particular autorizations. In those days the reserve slots were pretty full of people trying to avoid the draft or lottery, particularly after they did away with the 'student' deferment'. However, considering he threw away his medals while still in the Inactive Reserves, I doubt he really wanted to go into the active reserves. In fact, he probably could be court martialed for conduct unbecoming an officer for throwing away his medals and demonstrating against the war, as he was still in the reserves and subject to recall.

Speaking of, "Recalls," anyone seen Gray Davis lately?
Sorry. I couldn't resist...

LOL! You have a talent for understatement. I agree that VVAW Kerry, as opposed to Silver Star Kerry, probably had no desire to join up with a Reserve unit. He seems to have discovered on his return from Vietnam to Massachusetts that war hero was not going to get him elected to anything buy war protester could.

120 "huh"
those are two separate DD214's, not 2 pages of one.
It is a one page form.
The first one shows his release from enlisted status (all officers go in as enlisted), then they go to officers training school (as enlisted), then on graduating and getting their commission, they are discharged from enlisted simultaneously reinlisted as new officers.
If the 'officer candidate' flunks out of officers training school, he is bound by his original enlistment, and serves his full term as an enlisted man.

He'll be running for VP. He's just about the only person who won't overshadow Kerry...

Damn Gramps don't get your boxers in such a wad. I'm only asking you to explain what you see there. It looks to me like he's got an honorable discharge just like President Bush. Thus he fulfilled his obligations to the satisfaction of those up the command. There are tons of things out there to fight Kerry with outside of his military service.... He has a paper trail a mile wide and it runs for 30 years...
Not sure when you did your military stint and don't really care. I'm sure you served honorably as most of us did.

You got it. A lot of us who fought that war were stunned by the reception we got when we returned home. We expected respect and congratulations (like is going on now with the Iraq Vets), and instead we got spit on (literally - I was spit on).
so, IMO, his whole military career is just a political launching pad. Note, his ddform215, updating his medal citations was done in 2001.
So, he was planning on running, even then.

I'm glad you posted it. As you can see some pounced on it immediately and seemed ready to spread the word. It's been said before in many ways. If we're going to hang Kerry let's make sure the rope is strong. I know you understand that but some members of the choir are too ready to jump the gun.

"Speaking of, "Recalls," anyone seen Gray Davis lately?"
Yeah, he does a sleazy Yahoo commercial with Al Franken who slams republicans.

Actually, Gray Davis is in the commercial with the little girl running for class president. Al Franken is in the commercial with Ben Stein. Both commercials are for Yahoo.

Exactly - Let's hang him for all his 'wrong' stuff, (there is plenty), and not hang ourselves in a lie.

"Is there not irony in that?"
Only if irony=deciet and double standards.
You nailed ol' Audie he ain't, but the liberal media will still portray him as a heroic saint.
