I agree, but by removing accountability (making them all lame-ducks due to term limits), what do we expect?
The only accountability our legislators have is to the next vote. Remove that next vote, and a republic crumbles. Which is what we're seeing now.

Why do we even have propositions? Why do we even vote? Four years ago we voted about this. It's like it never happened. I'm leaving California....and fast. Putting my house up for sale before people realize how stupid they are for paying so much money to live in this socialistic hellhole. (except for the weather.)

[It's interesting that Latinos and Blacks voted at a higher percentage than other Californians on the marriage issue]
As long as Blacks & Latinos continue to reflexively vote for the Dims, liberals feel they can do anything they want.

Last year, Gray Davis signed a Domestic Partnership law as a way to gain gay support during the Recall Election. Back then, it was hailed a great victory for gay rights. Now civil unions/domestic partnerships are seen by gay rights activists as insulting.

There is no stopping this in California...This is a slam dunk to pass
The only hope is a Federal Constitutional Amendment...and that is not going to happen...
Gay Marriage, Gay Parents and Gay Mainstream educational curriculum are a sure thing.

Homosexual Agenda Ping - didn't read the fine print yet, have to get my stomach ready for it.. :-((
Dem'o'craps not running again stiffing all Californians - millions of them (us) who voted against "gay" marriage. The leftist ruling elites are (fill in this blank with words we can't say on FR). They are sickening snobs, elitist arrogant trash, immoral-addicted and amoral hypocrites who in their heart of hearts believe in that they are aristocracy and conservatives are peasants who should be serfs, should be silenced, and should have no power.
Those Freepers who live in CA should make their voices heard, loudly and repeatedly.
I think rallies and demonstrations are called for, bumper stickers, pins, yard signs, letters to the editor, calling/writing/emailing/visiting elected officials.
Talk to neighbors and relatives and get them on board.
Let me know if anyone wants on/off this pinglist.
And if all else fails, we can become libertarians and move to New Hampshire.
;-)
To: little jeremiah
In my haste to dutifully ping everyone I didn't realize this is slightly old news (although still just as bad!!!) and most everyone's been pung more than once.
I hate to wish anyone ill, but I wish those legislators who voted for this cr*p would feel their consciences pricking them and become insomniacs until they correct what they have done. May they have sleepless restless nights and nervewacked days.
To: Exton1
to all Californian FReepers:
good Lord, please have mercy upon them, give them the strength to prevail against this noxious perversion of the foundation of all healthy human society, and give their opponents a clear understanding of the depth of the error they pursue... and its consequences, generally and most definitely PERSONALLY.

As long as Blacks & Latinos continue to reflexively vote for the Dims, liberals feel they can do anything they want. Even with same-sex marriage, homosexuals will continue their "civil rights" agenda. It wouldn't surprise me if they continue to claim discrimination against them and their "families".....then they will demand Affirmative Action rights; and since they are more of a minority than Blacks and Latinos, they should be given first consideration. I think that may be the end of Black and Latino loyalty to the Democrats.
