Because you have to have a flag on your profile and I got tired of getting unsolicited mail and pings from people I didn't know on subjects I didn't care about simply because I had a flag that said I was from Texas.
So I thought about it and decided that there probably wouldn't be many Albanians on FR. So I put that flag on my profile. I've never been contacted by an Albanian and never get any pings or emails but every once in a while someone wants to know about the flag. It's a small price to pay for privacy.
