thanks for putting that info together, RD, and for your passion.
Waiting for news from court. No info yet on the places fv mentioned. I do hope we hear from those who were in court, anyway.

No, the opinion surveys often show 70 percent support for Michael R. Schiavo's position that poor Terri be dehydrated for a third time. If the facts were as much of the media has generally reported them, it would be quite reasonable to support Mr. Schiavo's side of the debate. That such a large portion of the population supports Mr. Schiavo does not mean that the majority of people who are aware of the facts support him, or even that a majority would support him if aware of all the facts.

My experience supports what you say, and what fv has said: When we talk one-on-one with people, they "get it". This was true when I talked with a man and woman in the Tampa Wal-mart, and it is true in other places as well, in FL as well as Minnesota, TN, and other places.
The facts need to get out. Which of course is why MS does not want Terri ("exhibit A") getting out in her chair, being seen as a human again as she had been in early 90's (going out getting hair fixed, going to museums, etc).
* Terri's parents have not seen her in three weeks. * We still do not know the details of what was indeed some sort of an assault on her (and it was not done by her parents), as she was mussed up w/her feeding tube wrapped around her and marks of some sort on her (iow, even if/though! the assault was trumped up to keep parents out, she was still assaulted! . . . at least that's how I see it.
* Terri is still missing (at least) 2 (TWO) teeth.
* Terri has a decubitus ulcer -- is it being aggressively and conscientiously treated so it will heal?

We still do not know the details of what was indeed some sort of an assault on her (and it was not done by her parents), as she was mussed up w/her feeding tube wrapped around her and marks of some sort on her (iow, even if/though! the assault was trumped up to keep parents out, she was still assaulted! . . . at least that's how I see it. Can someone explain to me how the fact that she was assaulted while under the control of someone who won't let anyone approach her without permission and supervision is not prima facie evidence that something is grossly wrong with her care?
If a child was seen with severe bruises and the parents immediately accused someone whom they hated but who had a rock-solid alibi, and had no further reasonable suggestions as to how the child got the bruises, would authorities not deem such a thing extremely suspicious? And Terri's case is even more suspicious than that, since in the former case the parents could claim their child lied to them about an attacker while in the case at hand it would be very hard for Michael to do so (basically impossible without his implicating himself in other ways).

Yep, the problem is how to get the visitation back after all Michael's scheming to deny it. Since he is "next of kin" and Terri is apparently under his control. I'm sure different parties are working on the means to remove this control. I did write a piece to the editors (
http://www.georgewbush.com/GetActive/WriteNewspapers.aspx?aid=92) in my vicinity. I commented that I hope that Federal investigations and criminal prosecution are coming down the line for Michael Schiavo regarding his liquidating of Terri's assets to get her on Medicaid in his efforts to have Terri killed. I also said that I hope the President can do better than US District Court Judge Richard Lazarra whose shameful acts on Oct. 10th, 2003 brought more than scorn upon the Federal branches of government.

Something stinks here!!!! Step up to the plate you pro-bono knights - what are you doing to stop the court and MS from doing the American taxpayer just as they've been doing Terri!!!Yeah it does. When I first took over conservatorship of my mom, I requested info about Medicaid. I was worried that all the assets would eventually be spent caring for her, and wanted to know what would happen. The women on her side of the family lived in their 90's and in a couple of cases, beyond. The paperwork will make your head spin.
The overview is correct, however all assets, if I recall, must be spent to take care of the patient. It's against the law for someone to deliberately hide, liquidate, or otherwise make it appear that the benificiary has no assets.
