We yell at the left for comparing Iraq to Vietnam, yet you want to compare it to WW2?

Gen. Shinseki was the biggest name and the one that I remember off the top of my head.

http://www.ohanamagazine.com/sepoct2003/feature.html - "Just before the war with Iraq, Shinseki told Congress that hundreds of thousands of troops would be needed in Iraq after the war. His estimate, which shines true today, was scorned by Rumsfeld as far off the mark, that the chief was an obstacle to progress. That was Rumsfeld's coup de grace upon the general. Shinseki s post-war estimates now roars with thunder, showing his brilliance and vindicating his ineptness as seen by Rumsfeld."

"Troop strength - I think we have consistently underestimated the number of troops it would take to pacify Iraq. Gen Shinseki's original estimates were much closer to the mark." - http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1118734/posts
