From what I can determine, our guys are literally stomping the Iraqi thugs into the dirt. I mourn the losses of our troops. Here are some abbreviation explanations that I am familiar with. I admit, there are a couple of things in the article that are not readily understandable by me, as they refer to military units.
SITREP = Situation Report
POC = Point of Contact (I think)
PFC = Private First Class
Wpns. Co. = Weapons Company
AK = AK 47 RIFLE (The AK-47 was designed by Mikhail Timofeyevich Kalashnikov as a replacement for the SKS)
MEDEVAC = Medical Evacuation
G-canal = Guadacanal (They were comparing an incident to a disastrous defeat by the Japanese at the Tenaru River on Guadacanal in WWII)
KIA = Killed in Action
RPG = Rocket Propelled Grenade (A shoulder fired grenade)
PAO = Public Affairs Office
IED = Improvised Explosive Device (Basically a home made bomb. They plant a lot of these along roadways and ambush convoys)
KOed = Knocked Out
