My message to the demented Andy Rooney:

Tell it to the families of those who have died in the service of their country.

Start in the town where I go to church...Jefferson, Iowa. We lost Marine Lance Corporal Ben Carman last Tuesday to enemy fire that was in great part inspired by you idiots on the Left who are so mired in your ideology that you don't know right from wrong any more.

Ben Carman is a hero.

You, 'sir', are a traitor.

Yeah, come on down to Jefferson and say that. You just might get tarred and feathered and run out on a rail. And that won't be nearly as harsh as you deserve.

Your post reminded me of John McCain's refusal to be released early from the Hanoi Hilton as part of a media spin by the North Vietmemese. I had heard about this offer before I read his book, "Faith of My Fathers". I really am not interested in his politics, I do think he is one hell of a man and that that moment may have been his finest. One of the finest ever.

Ever notice that the longer the evil ones live, the worse they get? Stalin, Castro, Chairman Mao, Walter Cronkite, and Andy Rooney...it's like they are distilled in own particular brand of lunacy. Best Example: Jimmy Carter.

Andy Rooney was a reporter in WWII. During the worst parts of the Allied Daylight Bombing Offense, he flew multiple missions to report on what the aircrews went through. At that time bomber crews had a higher casualty rate than infantry.
He didn't have to do that, either. I consider that pretty brave, and he deserves credit for it.
That said, its time for him to retire.
Funny thing, but IIRC, Uncle Walter and a few other notoriously liberal reporters came out of that group.

Marinated in their own juices, so to speak. Like bad wine left standing with the cork off. Instead of getting smoother wiith age, they've turned to vinagar. A particularly foul vinagar.

Rooney reflects the true views of the Left in this country. It really pains them to hear people say they support the troops. These flower children of the sixties hate the troops and the military. The volunteer force frustrates their ability to characterize the military as victims. Rooney, a WWII vet, is also jealous that the military has regained much of the status it had after WWII. I would ask Rooney one question about his WWII service: Were you a victim?

As a former soldier and a war vet, I can't not believe that this old fart said this. And him being a WWII vet? What a freaking moron.

He is a traitor. Hang him.

I am so sorry. This is just pure drivel, and these words shame him, his boss, their community - heck, they shame the nation.

m-a, a reminder of who WE are - from your wise husband - for all who have loved ones currently serving, to everyone who received similar treatment from the similarly lost during Vietnam War, to everyone to knows the enemy and the cost of Andy Rooney's freedom....

Thank you all for the welcome home, I was two hours from getting on the plane when i received a call about our aircraft being shot down, please pray for the families
of all the brave americans who lost their lives. I am glad to be home and also anxious in a way to get back and finish what we are doing there, it is a good cause and we must prevail. We will continue to send soldiers home, our unit alone will send 35 home this month and almost 40 in dec.
Pay no attention to the media, they have been no where around when good things happen. They cower in hotels until an american gets killed and then scurry out into the light like cockroaches. Screw Them!!!

Since the war in Iraq began in March 2003, 24 soldiers have committed suicide, an average of about two per month. The suicide rate for Army soldiers in Iraq in 2003 was 15.8 per 100,000, an increase from the Army average of 12.2 for 2003 and 11.9 from 1995-2002. That rate was still below the national average of 21.5 suicides per 100,000 for males ages 20-34, which roughly matches the age range of the bulk of the soldiers in Iraq.

Just the answer to the quesiton I wanted to ask.

It's also LOWER than the national average for ALL MALES of ANY AGE, which is 19.8 per 100,000.

BTW, this didn't just appear in Buffalo News, it seems it went out all over- see this-

Well,if he did a brave thing then and now denigrates our military ..I should just look back over 50 years ago and say "You have enough credit to live on and therefore you can be excused"?I DON'T THINK SO!

Well put. And someday I believe they will be held accountable for every irresponsible word.
