Oh, I forgot... add Italy to the list. There are reportedly two Italians being held.

Two minutes later, CNN will be reporting that the Chinese hostages have been released. China doesn't fart around.

China does not have much capability of projecting it's conventional military power beyond the it's shoreline. If it did, the P.R.C. would be ruling Taiwan instead of whining about it for over half a century .

The hostages will be released, though. It makes no sense to alienate the enemies of your enemy.

I don’t think any of the major partners are going to change policy due to this mini-Tet offensive.

There's too much oil there. These contractors are getting paid a mint, and they're probably ex-military anyway. They know what's at stake.

Thank you Lord, for making fools our enemies.

This has to be the most multi-cultural spate of kidnappings in the history of the world.
Celebrate Diversity, Iraqi-style.

We'll probably see the press claim how evolved they are. It was Dowd or one of them that was so smitten with the beltway snipers because they chose their victims without discriminating about skin color.

And, China doesn't need to actually attack anybody in Iraq. All they have to do is send their goons into an Islamic enclave of China or Tibet, and broadcast pictures of the resulting gore that would gag a camel.

Not to suggest they actually DO this. Atrocities are atrocities no matter where they are.

These terrorists are ensuring they run out of international friends.

I guess these ChiComms forgot the first rule of arms dealing - give them bullets after you get the cash AND are out of range.
