He's not on vacation. It's a holiday weekend. He's had meetings all weekend. Spent a couple of hours fishing. And will be back at the White House on Sunday night. Lighten up.

I'm another lady fisherman. My honey even gave me a casting rod and reel 2 Christmases ago.

It's the best leaving kids' home and just sitting and enjoying the quiet...unless, of course, you're pulling in "the big one".

Fishing Ping...

Nuthin' better than strappin' on a pair of waders, bucket full of greasy eels, stepping out onto the slick rocks along the North Atlantic ...... Then it rains. never quite had the great experience that you have had, but I have spent several years doin' stripers on Cape Cod, the canal and Buzzards Bay. Still got family out there ,.... and I still got a nice bluefish scar on my hand - that I sometimes like to brag about

Like my brother-in-law tells me after one of my amazing catches....either you put it on my grill or show me the picture.

Bad imagery in a week with a lot of casualties. This was not a week for a vacation. Some people just insist on over-analyzing things.

Very cool! I live on Buzzard's Bay, and spent a 'bit' of time in Newport on the Drive, Gooseberry in Westport, Allen's Neck( before I started sailing); and once in a while I toss a plug into the Canal when I visit my kiddo at MMA. (only breaking when I don't bring a stick)
The old-timer who teached me surf-fishin' was a chum of Stan Gibbs, and he told me that back in the fifties and early sixties the canal was hot before they dredged it.
I used to go with him in his boat out of Orleans Harbor and fish the CCBay back in the 70's. Cheers!

(yes there is some sarcasm in there!) Line of the Day material, ma'am. Thanks for the laugh.

I'd like to see Kerry slingin' a Texas Rigged power worm with a good baitcasting reel - and then I'd like to see the backlash sprouting in front of him. Pshaw..I'd bet he'd have trouble throwing a zebco 33.
To: Vigilantcitizen
he'd probably get a backlash fishin' with a cane pole

Man???? I am not a man. Sorry Ma'am. (Tips hat)
I didn't look closely at the screen name before posting.
Sounds like you could out-fish me.

That's quite alright sir...I realize not many women love fishing as much as I do....so it's easy to understand the assumption. But please, watch out for me on other "sport" threads...especially the golf ones. I am an all around sports fan.
Happy Easter BSR...and God Bless!!!
